I read some material the other day that pretty much called it his brainchild. He didn’t just walk away from it once it was unpopular either. He pushed that damned thing long after his fellow Texans were up in arms over it. That plan grew to be a monstrosity, and he saw no problem with it at all.

What happens if he becomes president? Does he resurrect that thing? I tend to doubt it, but I’m by no means convinced of that. Him being the big honcho at that point, what would stop him?

Once again, that’s my take on it. If others have some information that would prove me wrong, I’m willing to look at it.

Yes I have heard all that. I have not selected a candidate yet, from the ones who are running or the ones who have not declared yet. I see qualities I like in Perry, Palin, Cain and Bachman. There are several I do not like Romney, Paul especially. But I want to vote for the Republican candidate and do not advocate a 3rd party.

That may not be fair. It may actually be quite fair. It does seem to me that he’s certainly not afraid of a massive government program. He probably saw this (the TTC) as infrastructure development. I saw it as building a highway to where the jobs were going to move to. Was that something I was going to be thrilled about? No.

I’m not sure what his take on Obamacare is. He may oppose it seeing how Obama rammed it through. He should be able to see it from a state’s point of view. That should help him oppose it. Would that make him abolish it, or cause him to tweak it so that it was a “Republican” idea instead of a Democrat one, vs a Conservative one? I don’t know. It’s something he’ll have to address.

Personally, I want health care returned to the private sector where it belongs. I want government out of it. I want personal savings accounts and doctor, patient, and hospital relationships to rule the day.

I also want insurance companies out of it, except for policies with very high deductables. The insurance industry siphons of hundreds of billions of dollars per year, that don’t provide one dime in health care. That needs to stop ASAP. People need to conduct their business with physicians and other health care providers and institution. They do not need middle-men, except for the most drastic medical problems that arise. Self-insuring would cover most of their needs.

This same pool could be used to self-insure on auto, dental, and other similar plans. Think of all the money folks could save, if they didn’t have to buy insurance on all those plans. And think of the power they would have to negotiate with providers, if they had a person relationship.

Quit giving away tens of billions in services to the citizen of other nations, and we’ll be well on our way to a fix as a first step, or part of the first series of steps.

Good answer, DoughtyOne. You pretty much summed up what I see in a Perry presidency: “Illegal immigration won’t be addressed. Big business seems to love it. Sending jobs out of our nation will not be addressed. Getting education fixed won’t be. Keeping our military strong won’t be. Globalist initiatives will be supported, because big business loves to work in a globalist trans-national environment. They’ll cozy up to anyone with a buck.”

Perry seems to be particularly lacking in support for individual sovereignty and supportive of illegal immigration.

I really don’t think a lot of the hits/dispargments that the candidates take here are necessarily what the populace at large would take as serious. I don’t know that, jmo.

I actually agree with that, but here we are at another Reagan moment. Whoever we run against Obama, is going to have a very powerful case to be made. He's failing us miserably and everyone knows it. When will we have a better chance to install a good Conservative that really gets it? That's why I think we need to think very long and hard when it come to settling this time around. We're in a good position here, and there's no reason to be bashful about putting up a very good person. Obama has already just about killed his chances, and this buffoon can't help himself.

Nope, I’m not advocating a third party. I AM advocating that we take back/over, whatever, the Republican party, and run it as a pro-Republic party.

I am inclined to think along the same lines regarding illegal immigration. I have seen him evidence some awareness, but at the end of the day, I honestly expect an ‘amnesty’ that is not an amnesty approach to it.

Thank you SuzyQue.

Most people know this is what needs to be done but the ruling class always calls this truth "extremist" and "isolationist." Right now, from my perspective, the government is actively working against the average citizen.

There isn’t any question of that as it realates to this issue.

Several other issues rank right there with it too.

FAIL.

Maybe you noticed that TTC and Gardasil are actual political events within Texas, rather than vague MSM-inspired "unpopularity" whispering campaigns as have been organized against Palin.

Cheers!

Neither happened. Both were defeated.

The gist of my statement was to compare and contrast those two events (both political controversies which actually happened and were worked out) to the "whisper campaign" of alleged unpopularity against Palin.

Why did you selectively edit my post to change the subject, instead of conceding the point?

Is it related to your screen name, by any chance?

Cheers!

There's a big difference between "editing" and "excerpting". I "excerpted" the part I was responding to. The "GIF" I made, that you were responding to, had nothing to do with Palin. It's for the Perry-haters who obsess over Gardasil and TTC as if they are some kind of devastating scandal that will destroy his presidential aspirations.

And as far as my name...it's a conservative website...do I really have to spell it out for you?

“Defeated”?

They expose the working of RINO Perry’s “mind”.

I am not a fan of Perry, but I think you lost any credibility you had here when you made this statement on another thread. And I quote.... “Brit Hume is an left-wing radical apologist for Obama and Romney.”

Hume and FOX News ARE apologists for Obama and Romney.
[Tune in to the Sunday Talk Show thread.]

NO MORE RINOs.
