A new poll finds President Obama tied with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in Pennsylvania, a swing state Obama won by 10 points in 2008. Additionally, the president faces upside-down approval ratings there.
Forty-six percent of Keystone State voters approve of Obama while 48 percent disapprove, according to a survey by Public Policy Polling (D). This is actually an improvement for the president; when the polling firm surveyed Pennsylvania voters in April, those numbers were 42-52. Independents are split on their approval of Obama, with 44 percent approving of his performance and 45 percent disapproving.
Romney and Obama are tied at 44 percent in a hypothetical general election matchup. Romney picks up support from 18 percent of Democrats surveyed, and Obama edges Romney among independents by just 1 percent.

Good news here for Republicans...a nice opening.
If Obama is defeated in both Florida and Pennsylvania, it’s hard to imagine him making up for it elsewhere.
I see this as a hopeful poll. If Romney is tied with The One in blue-collar union-oriented PA...Obama is primed for a loss.
It’s been said before, I’ll say it again: The election of an incumbent is a two-step process: 1) Is the electorate dissatisfied with the incumbent? 2) Is the challenger an acceptable option?
If the answer to both is “yes” Obama will lose.
I don’t think Obama carries Pennsylvania, and the margin will be well outside Philadelphia County’s “margin of fraud”.
Pennsylvanians are pretty stupid and there is more than a year to the election.
Look at who Pennsylvanians have elected in the past, Spector and Murtha, not to mention locals like Nutter in Philly and Ed Rendell
The state sits on a coal and oil shale, yet even after being told they cling to their bibles and guns they elect who they do. Something of a Stockholm syndrome.
Good news!
Metro Philadelphia casts a major percentage of the overall vote. Outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburg, it’s very different.
Woot!...a liberal and a RINO...simply shows you the state of mind of Penn, as well as the whole of upper NE. =.=
Obama is in the crapper!
My guess is -- barring a miracle for Zero -- all the McCain states stay R, and FL, NV, NC, VA, IN, OH, PA, and NH shift which would give an "ABO" (Anyone But Obama) 296 EV vs. 242 for Zero.
Michigan could flip, too, but I think that's less certain. Pennsylvania voted for "change" in 2008, not "disaster". I think ABO wins PA.
If Pennsy “Independents” favor 0bummer by even 1% it does not speak well of their “independence.”
Doesn’t surprise me. Romney is just a lighter version of Obama. Not much difference.
If you can find a 46% approval rating for obama in Pennsylvania, you have ONLY polled Philly and dahntahn Pittsburgh.
WE don’t answer our phones. They caught me once. I lied.
I've talked with so many "demonRATs" that voted for zero in '08 that can't wait to repeal their vote in '12 that unless the economy does a 180, his halfrican ass is going back to Chicago with a landslide whipping.
In PA today, obama couldn't even beat charlie mcarthy's dummy.
Obama, Romney Tied at the Hip
A slipping economy has Floridians moving away from President Barack Obama and warming up to Republican Mitt Romney, a Sunshine State News Poll shows. The survey of 1,000 likely voters shows that 54 percent disapprove of the job Obama is doing while just 38 percent approve. That result tracks with Florida voters sour view of the economy, with 56 percent saying it has worsened in the past year. Clearly, the bleak economic landscape is not good news for Obama. This is quite sobering when you consider that the recession technically ended in summer of 2009, which really shows that people dont believe we are out of the woods by any stretch, said Jim Lee, president of Harrisburg, Pa.-based Voter Survey Service, which conducted the poll for Sunshine State News.
Florida also
ping
Yeah, 545 of inner city Philly and the North Side of the 'Burg, perhaps. A can of tuna could beat Obama in PA except for those two cities.
