Libs Outraged Over Paul Ryan’s $350 Bottle of Wine, Silent When Nancy Pelosi Drowned $101,000

Cheers.

For some reason the libs weren’t so outraged when Obaama served $399 bottles of wine at his taxpayer-funded state dinner …

… but Libs today were “stunned” and “outraged” that popular conservative Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) ordered a $350 bottle of wine for dinner in New York.

TPM reported, via Ann Althouse:

When [Professor Feinberg] saw the label on the bottle of Jayer-Gilles 2004 Echezeaux Grand Cru Ryan’s table had ordered, she quickly looked it up on the wine list and saw that it sold for an eye-popping $350, the most expensive wine in the house along with one other with the same pricetag.

Feinberg, an economist by training, was even more appalled when the table ordered a second bottle….

“We were just stunned,” said Feinberg…

She was outraged …. [my emphasis]

My daughter is nearer to the Sonoma Valley....I tried a few CA wines while visiting. I missed my Keuka Spring Wine...while she was visiting she fell in love with it, too. Try them...they remain my fav.

Name calling? You are calling me a moron? Classy. Lose the argument and revert to name calling is the calling card of the left.

I am a capitalist, Ryan earns the money....not all that much considering he must maintain a home in his district in WI and one in DC. He must travel back and forth, and he doesn’t get a private jet like Pelosi got to fly back, when she was a millionaire many times over and could afford her own plane. Ryan pays his own way. So why harp on Paul Ryan? And why call those pointing out this kind of thing morons.

From what I can see you picked a losing point of view, got called out on it and haven’t effectively made a case for your position. Wanting gov to cut back is a goal we all can understand, but to begrudge Paul Ryan a bottle of overpriced wine is ....well.....whining.

I think you posted without thinking through what you wanted to say, but you won’t admit it. Instead you call me names. Well, have a good day! I hold no grudges.

$350 would barely get Pelosi’s jet to the runway, let alone off the ground.

No not at all.Good wines can be $600 or more a bottle.Like I said $399 is a moderate priced good wine but nothing to get the panties in a twist about.

Thanks, I found their website and will give them a try—they may be in some of our local wine shops which get some off-the-beaten path stuff :)

How do you do it?

I don't ... I was simply being hypothetical. $30 is about our upper limit

Chris Plante was just on Cavuto talking about this Professor, who worked for Jon Cary, and the hypocrisy of her behavior.

The wine was purchased by a man of considerable means at this table. Not Paul Ryan.

This woman should have to pay the tab for that whole party at Ryan’s table. She spoiled their dinner and made a scene.

Back atcha! I did spend $700 for my new washing machine ... that would be only two bottles of lobbyist-wine, with the tip covering my 5-year full warranty.

Mostly I drink pink wine from a box, $7.99 for 3 liters at Walmart. And when I do, I remember Oklahoma, where you can’t buy wine at Walmart ...

I was going to read about their Merlot, but that pop up window blurring the screen ticked me off, so I wouldn’t buy anything they bottle.

If he paid with his own money, he was helping the economy. What did those outraged libtards do to that day to help the economy?

What he does with his money once he’s been paid is his own business. If he wants to put it all on the ponies, that’s his business. If he wants to spend it all on buying macaroni and cheese at Walmart, that’s also his business.

He didn’t get an extra stipend just to pay for his wine, so this cost the taxpayers no more than his salary normally costs them.
