New park in Fayetteville has words in Constitution wrong

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - This one truth is self-evident: the preamble to the Constitution etched on glass panels at a Fayetteville park contains a significant error.
The Fayetteville Observer reports that etched into a set of dark glass panels at North Carolina Veterans Park are the 52 words to the preamble to the U.S. Constitution. However, the word "prosperity" appears in place of the correct word, "posterity."
City officials said they discovered the mistake Wednesday after someone called them and wrote about it on the newspaper's website.
Fayetteville City Manager Dale Iman said officials have begun retracing how the mistake happened, but whoever is at fault will be responsible for replacing the glass. Iman said a new piece of glass has been ordered from the manufacturer.

An appropriate tribute to the laziness and functional illiteracy of today's America. I'm sure the dimwit who "corrected" the word's spelling hasn't cracked open a dictionary in years, if ever.
Also, without a doubt, a product of publik edumacation.
Makes me wonder how many members of the Obama Stash Club were in the chain of people who reviewed or simply saw the text without the slightest clue.
Although it was probably accidental, it's still funny. Etching is forever.

I know how to spell prosperity cause there's this here quote in the paper by Dick Obama sayin prosperity is just around the corner. An I know he ain't talking about our butts! Haw, haw, haw!
If the Chinese company they outsourced this to knew better English, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
Well, this is completely understandable when you realize that the words had to be passed down verbally from the guy reading them through six union members to the one setting the type.
Do you have to smear the etcher?
You don’t know the circumstances behind how this happened. Who and how the pieced was etched. Could have been an independent artist, or it could have been via contract with a large studio where the person etching couldn’t understand English.
Being an artist myself, I did as the client directs. If they gave me misspellings or an incorrect quote, I always asked for verification: “Is this correct?”
Unfortunately, too many Americans don’t know English. We have major newspapers in the US outsourcing their editing to India where they know it better and can meet a deadline.
