Polls show there's an anti-Mormon bias among voters - especially Democrats, more than a quarter of whom say they wouldn't vote for a Mormon. But this video of a Memphis Fox affiliate ridiculing Mitt Romney about his religion is a real wake-up call [video]. The whole news segment appears to be about Mormonism and the 2012 election, but skip ahead to the 3:20 mark for the worst of it [video].

The GOP establishment is as bad or worse than he is. Real conservatives have to take the GOP over, that's the only way to turn things around. Mormonism being the center of the debate if he's nominated doesn't matter because if he's nominated we lose. I think there's more chance to sway people in the primaries and such with the facts about what he did as Governor than there is by focusing on his religion, that's all. Ticking off Mormons who are prone to voting conservative doesn't make much sense to me since it probably makes them more likely to work for Romney and more likely to stay home if he isn't on the ticket.
So, in reality, we differ on tactics and I think bringing religion up first hasn't been working out. You think otherwise.
Yeah, and where were your sermons -- and T.L. Sink's sermons -- and the countless other FREEPERS who want to fence out religion...crying on countless Jeremiah Wright threads in '08?
Why weren't those posters being "scolded" back then by similar comments to what you just said: "Why bother to talk about Wright at all when the guy is disqualified by his record?"
Open hypocrisy. What you and many other FREEPERS wouldn't defend based upon some supposed high-minded moral or political or liberal principle/conviction that we don't need to be "intolerant" or "bigoted" toward a candidate's personal religious links & ties, didn't ever seem to make it into FR print on those threads. Why not?
Was it because...
(a) Obama wasn't worth defending but Romney secretly is?
(b) Or that Obama wasn't worth defending but like many Americans-who-like-to-keep-all-options-open-&-they-don't-like-abortion-but-they-don't-want-to-rule-it-out-as-a-last-resort-option-for-their-own-family's-mistakes-&-likewise-don't-want-to-rule-out-voting-for-Romney-if-he-wins-the-nomination?
(c) Or, as Greyfoxx39 has repeatedly surmised, do we have secret mole Romneybots in our midst?
Or (d) Clue me in on your exact motivation.
My Q is: Why have we seen a steady uptick in indirect defenses of Romney based upon convictions...
...convictions that if these posters were really as passionate about as they come across, they would apply them on threads no matter who the candidate was...
Why has the scolding been reserved for those who believe that vulnerability to deception -- lack of discernment -- gullibility -- is a character issue upon which we MUST judge a POTUS candidate?
To all informal/unofficial members of the FR Ad Hoc Committee to Hermetically Seal Religion from Politics: If you're as passionate about this as some of you come across, then no more "passes" every time a FREEPER references Obama as "quasi-Muslim."
Here: The following will be a "test"...let's see how you react:
Here's a YouTube clip: Obama Admits He is a Muslim
Uh...just so I don't offend any FREEPERS here, does ANYONE per chance object that I've raised Islam in association with Obama?
This is a very long thread, why don’t you just remind me again of what all your warrior posting is trying to defend on this MittRomney/Mormon thread.
How about just a quick description of why you are taking on all comers here, what is your message to us?
I have an idea G. Stop whining about the replies to you and ignore them.
Good grief, for a guy who wants to be the smartest in the room, well you..........
So; I guess that YOU are saying that BLACKS have the Mark of the Beast??
Or have we miscommunicated?
In looking a a few pages of posting history, it appears he is taking on ALL Christians...Methodists, Catholics, Calvinists....
IMO he likes the attention.
I inferred that NOTHING posted on FR would do any good.
I figured you meant we were ALL wasting our time; not just you.
As much as MORMONism, Inc. would LOVE for this to happen: it ain't gonna.
Telling freerepublic to not challenge Mormonism is a defense of Mormonism by putting up a protective shield around them, and allowing them free reign to spread their anti-Christian religion in the name of Jesus Christ, there is no escaping that, and you are wrong about Mormons not being converted by these efforts by the Christians here.
THAT worked really well!
I have an idea S, YOU should have stayed out of it, well you.......
Coming up with a Hie machine is tricky....

Nope. (to finish my well you........) aren’t.
I preach where ever I find an audience.
It could be a highway or maybe a byway or maybe even on FR.
If that's the case the few folks I've known recently who are Mormon have a really good act when the subject of politics comes up. As for their being deceived, I think the vast majority of those who consider themselves Christian are deceived. They believe that if they accept whatever it is that first got them some acceptance from others, especially if they have never been accepted by a group, they're really believing. In reality, they've accepted what's helps them in this life.
Regards
My eyes are wide open and I see you for what you are.

You have been insulting and you are the one who keeps insisting on having the last word and seem to think that by LMAO (childish btw) you can insult me into silence. Won’t work. I am a strong willed, intelligent woman with strong opinions (much like Palin) and won’t just ‘go away’ because some neanderthal tells me to.
Like most ex-husbands (not that I have one still married to my first) you are more concerned with your toys than what really matters.
You want me to quit posting to you? Quit posting to me and stop insulting me. Run along and play, little boy.
