Raleigh, N.C. — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol on Friday released its findings that clears a state trooper of wrongdoing following a Raleigh woman's claims that she was harassed and intimidated during a traffic stop in Wilmington last month.

Correct. Just because it may be difficult to fill cop jobs with GOOD ones, is no excuse for accepting any warm body who may indeed have some “authority” issues.

Both of these cops are a couple of scumbags- especially that Gomer Pyle looking guy. First of all, Governor Perdue announced yesterday before the report was released how she thought the investigation should turn out. Lo and behold, they did just exactly as she wanted. There’s no way they could get the arresting cop for anything- except for the conspiracy to stop the husband. Come on. These two idiots are texting and it just so happens Gomer Pyle is the one cop out of all the cops on duty at that time who stopped the husband. I’d sue these scumbags and subpoena their phone records and see if there were any verbal phone calls in addition to the texting. I’d also find out exactly where Officer Pyle was when he first learned about the woman’s arrest and how did he end up at the intersection where the husband was stopped. Is that his patrol area. I’d also like to know if he logged in his stop of the husband. I’d also like to find out if anything like this happened before while Wyrick was transporting a prisoner to the magistrate to be released.

Imagine a thread about cop abuse being one sided? I supposed you’d welcome people here that think cops abusing their power to be a good thing????? Really???

How about we give them virtual immunity from prosecution, wide discretionary powers and a code book so large that no one person has ever read the whole thing? We can even give them guns, tasers, and Police cars full of gas! That sounds like a GREAT idea!!!!
The NC Highway Patrol is beyond redemption. There has been one scandal after another to the point that public confidence in the agency is seriously undermined. The local message boards have been running at least 5:1 against the troopers. The only people defending these two were other members of the SHP --even many LEO's were highly critical of their behavior.
Notice how all the cops these days seem to sport the Neo-Nazi skinhead look? Truth in advertising, I guess.
However, a neutral article regarding alleged police abuse that just gave us the facts as they stood would be a welcome addition.
You have blinders on. I, however, condemn bad cops once due process has taken place. If, however, the cops are found to have done nothing wrong you still cling to your good old 'taking care of their own' BS line. I'm not sure why I bother. You're a novelty I guess.
The bully looks like Lee Marvin. I’m betting Pyle was at the station and saw Wyrick bring her in. I’m betting he checked back out a few minutes after Wyrick left on his way to the magistrate. I’m betting this wasn’t his patrol area either- and that’s why he didn’t give him the ticket. It was just to slow him down so he’d lose Wyrick.

You are no conservative. You don’t love freedom. You only love your procedures, your revenue generating traffic stops and protecting your fellow dirty cops when they need it.
