Or maybe it’s a sign that idiots aught not stand around outside in a thunderstorm.

Or it could be just an atmospheric electrostatic discharge...

Is lightning unusual in Florida in the summer?

As Cooper peered up at the exposed white bark of the pine tree she said: "That is what I call Karma."
So... the pine tree did it?

The rain, the lightning, the storm it's the heavens indicating they aren't happy. Superstitious clap trap.

No - the angels showing their displeasure would be a lightening strike on Casey Anthony herself.

Huh.
The Almighty must’ve been REALLY pissed about that six-story high ‘Touchdown Jesus’ statue in Ohio, then.
He not only pegged it with a Holy ZOT; He lit that thing on fire and burned it to ashes.
Or maybe that’s just whatcha get fer thinkin’

It’s a long-leaf pine . . . also known as ‘lightening magnets’. I removed all the pines within the immediate vicinity of my house after I had one hit by lightening.

I would think if it was God showing his displeasure with Casey the lightening would have struck her. Or maybe God was mad at the prosecutor for over charging but not mad enough to kill him.
