Lightning strike at Caylee memorial 'could be a sign from the angels' | Photo

A tall tree in the same area where Caylee Marie Anthony's remains were found was struck by lightning this afternoon — just hours after her mother learned she would be released from jail next week.

"It could be a sign from the angels that they aren't happy with what's happened," said 40-year-old Keyla Lugo of Orlando, who has visited the memorial in the Chickasaw Oaks subdivision twice in the last week. "It's a sad day for Orlando, for Caylee and for justice. The rain, the lightning, the storm – it's the heavens indicating they aren't happy." The vacant lot on Suburban Drive has sprouted a makeshift memorial of teddy bears and flowers — a magnet for thousands since the skeletonized remains of the 2-year-old were found there in December 2008.

Traffic picked up this week with the end of her mother Casey Anthony's murder trial. Casey Anthony, 25, was accused of killing her daughter but a jury Tuesday found her not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

I would think if it was God showing his displeasure with Casey the lightening would have struck her. Or maybe God was mad at the prosecutor for over charging but not mad enough to kill him.

Thank you. Thank you also for your service. My two brothers served in Iraq as well; one a chopper pilot the other a weapons officer.

I was going to run with this one, but I better stop before I get into trouble.

The sad thing is there are kids like this being abused everyday but CPS puts them right back into the abusive situation because they believe the family should be held together.

The Lord is subtle. He doesn’t clobber you over the head with his messages. He keeps you guessing to test your faith because in the end, it all comes down to faith.

Oh, I prefer my God to start dropping trees on anyone who does evil to a child. Casey should move to the desert.

Saw this on TV this morning.

At least someone has some common sense.

Sure would be nice if he'd do it just this once, anyway.

Foolish. The prosecution couldn’t even determine if the child was murdered. How were they going to convince the jury that there was a murder and a murderer?

As usual, the sheeple won’t be swayed by the facts but pulled along by TV-driven emotion.

You make that statement and call others foolish? How ironic.

LOL! That's fantastic. Nice to see someone apply their common sense understanding that dolts exist, in such an "in your face" way. Apparently, dolts are a herding animal, in groups of twelve.

Find the cause of death on the coroner’s report.
