I guess everyone has a virus in D.C...
Hume is a closet liberal.
I saw that segment and I didn’t think it was a slam. He was just expressing his opinion and he may be right. The media is just getting started on her.
“Independents” are the same ***holes that elected Barack Hussein Obama, right? I wonder why they didn’t find him “too toxic”.
Barry Goldwater himself would have gone whacko-liberal had he been elected.
“Hume is a closet liberal.”
Romneybot? Closest thing to a democrat
We better co-nominate Ubama to make sure we don't lose.
I had the TV on and wasn't really paying attention, but I could have sworn that I heard him say something to the affect that (paraphrasing) "Obama before going to bed at night, probably prays that Sarah Palin is the Republican nominee."
Used to think Hume was a pretty level-headed, objective, commentator, but that comment (as well as the one about Michelle) makes me wonder?
Not sure why this myth is perpetuated by so many on our side...and Hume is on our side philosophically, as far as I can tell. True conservatives constantly win over the vaunted independent voter when they lay put a strong case for conservative solutions and conservative policies. It is the mushy mealy-mouth moderates that lose elections.
Thanks for the onsite reporting, I admit I got bamboozled by the headline.
They don’t like Cain. They don’t like Bachman. They don’t like Palin.
The elites inside the beltway don’t like conservatives.
So, what else is new?
Independents want the U.S. to be bankrupt?
Michelle is the only one who would prevent that that is currently running.
Humes comments seem common of the beltway repubs..
I like Michele Bachmann ... she is on my list of possible candidates for pres..
I like Brit. He was a young-gun when he moved the be White House correspondent at the start of the Reagan years back when he was with ABC.
He is now just too much of an insider to be objective.
She/they are too conservative for whom? Not for conservatives.
Maybe too conservative for an old Bull-RINO like Britt.
Time to pass the torch old friend.
Roll on Girls, you are bright and shinning stars.
I saw it too. It wasn't a slam. It was his analysis of the current political situation.
Newt said in 1994 that as the plane heads east, the brain is drained and empty upon arrival.
that’s a real good reason to elect her
I actually think Hume is right on Bachmann, wrong on Palin.
The Palins have very much a libertarian streak in them which plays well with independents. You don’t see Todd trying to counsel gays to be straight or Sarah promoting wives to be submissive to their husbands, saying she only decided to run for mayor because Todd told her to.
Palin is, dare I say it, Reaganesque and steadfast in adhering to and promoting her socially conservative positions without being intolerant with or unsophisticated about those with other views.
The best thing that could happen would be for Bachmann’s (and Santorum’s and Perry’s) more rigid social judgments to help to recast an understanding of Palin as she truly is, which is principled but not noxious to more independent/moderate types.
Hume about Tigger Woods: “He’s said to be a Buddhist. I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, Tiger, turn your faith - turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.’”
Surprised Hume kept his job, I was.
