This morning, there was a stunning development in Congresss investigation of the Justice Departments Fast and Furious gun-running program: it was revealed that on July 4, Kenneth Melson, the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Obama administrations intended fall guy in the scandal, broke ranks with his superiors. Without their knowledge, he gave an interview to Darrell Issas House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, accompanied only by his personal attorney. While a transcript of that interview is not yet public, it is clear that he blew the whistle on senior officials in the Justice Department.

Don’t think so. Not this time. This is the AZ wildfire squared. Fox is covering this. William LeJeunesse did a full report on it today and I expect the other networks will have to cover it at some point. It has just popped its lid with what Melson has done.

Our system of government has evolved into such an oligarchy, and with the media being on the left , I dont think anything will come of this
if it happened under Bush it would be all over the news as the crime of the century
under Obama , just eyewash reporting

Justice Department snipes back at Issa, Grassley
Attorney General Eric Holders deputies hit back at allegations of investigation stonewalling made by House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa and Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican, late Wednesday.
Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich accused Issa and Grassley of ginning up controversy and claims their allegations of the Department of Justices s transparency failure arent true.

I wonder how the Clinton's will work this scandal into more power over Obama We're probably witnessing thier efforts right now - they probably guaranteed Kenneth Melson's safety in talking to Issa.

But I didn't go to your links. I went to the Home page of CBS news. I went to the Home Page of ABC News. I went to the Washington Post Home page. I had to drill down into the sites to find the stories in question. They didn't make it easy. They were not in the main headline stories on any of these sites. Sure I could have simply followed the links you gave but that's not the normal way someone would find these stories. That's my point. BTW, what did you do anyway, go to each of these sites any type "fast and furious" into their local search engine? Sure you can get the story that way. I'll bet that's what you did.
It's kinda like the Print newspaper which puts an accusation on page 1, Upper Fold and then puts the retraction on Page 28, Column E a few days later. Most people see the Front Page accusation but rarely see the retraction. The MSM is carrying this story but barely. Yes if you scour through each site in great detail you can find the stories. But you missed the whole point, smarta**.

Gunwalker was used by the Bush administration, where they actually did their jobs and arrested the straw purchasers.

It was called Gunrunner at that time. They did not let the guns “Walk”.

They need to keep dripping the information out. That Melson went in without DOJ attorneys and with his own personal attorney is the story. Melson knows just how far this goes. There’s no way this doesn’t go straight into the oval office.

It looks like their is another part of Gunwalker in Florida. The official name for that operation may have been Operation Castaway:

The stories are buried ~ I've looked for them myself. At the same time earlier stories that indicate a too close relationship between MSM types and ATF have disappeared from MSM servers.
I reported on that phenomenon at the WarshPost earlier.
Their whole series on the claim that 70% of firearms traced in Mexico come from the USA is now unavailable ~ of course I've been pinging on that in post after post after post for the last year. There are reporters, editors, managers and others at the WarshPost who will find those articles incriminating when we take them to trial for murdering Mexican public office holders.
Two things ~ just because you've already dug up a story for us doesn't mean it's easy for others elsewhere to get to. Secondly, just because someone says its hard to get to (outside of your reference) should not be taken as a personal insult.
The MSM is busy burying their older stories that suggest their complicity in murders on a large scale (the Mexican civil war), and making their current stories something less than front page headline quality.

I'm no constitutional lawyer and struggle to find how unless Holder succumbs to pressure from congress(Issa, et al), not sure how is to be held accountable. Obama will give him a free pass. Who will arrest him? Tree falls in the woods, citizenry aren't there to see or hear it, so it never fell. Get my point? Sure he's guilty as sin and should be in jail, but this regime is above the law and hates this country and believes they are entitled to break it to make up for past sins...a la, OJ Simpson. Those were my thoughts exactly! He's guilty as sin, and nothing will happen! Obama and his minions are their own law as they define it.

Bloomberg's behavior is definitely suggestive of a far larger involvement in this by state and local authorities ~ just thinking of our boy, Sheriff Dupnik over in Arizona ~ why is he out there killing people his office claims are involved in gun stuff?
Did he have a reason to make sure that particular fellow was silent?
All the sheriffs, police chiefs, mayors and state legislators involved in these complex anti-gun operations could be engaged a sort of low level gang warfare themselves.
