Let me know if you find a source for a FAL drum mag. I've got a few 30-round magazines for mine, but they're a bit clunky. But I could see using a drum set-up on my StG58 or FAL-O Congo with the bipod extended.
There was no discernable racial discrimination - not saying it didn't exist at some level but people were too involved in living their own lives to spend time counting black noses, brown noses, white noses.
Everyone in town was struggling just to stay alive and put food on the table. Except for a few wealthy families, whites and blacks were equally poor. During WWII food and everything else was rationed. Blacks and whites got the same number of ration coupons.
Kids all wore mended jeans, worn out shoes, threadbare jackets and went to the same school together. We all hunted and fished the same woods and creeks.
All the black kids I knew had a mother and father and went to church on Sundays.
Having a child out of wedlock was a family tragedy for white and black.
Blacks and whites looked on government welfare or food commodities as something to be avoided. There was a stigma attached: It was a last resort, something short term and temporary to help them get over a bad time.
People didn't hate someone who had more than they did. They just wanted to find a way to earn more themselves.
This must read like a Fairy tale today, but that is exactly how it was in the 1940's and 1950's.
Then LBJ, President Johnson, came along and figured out how to create black dependancy on the government by fostering racism, distrust and envy. And he did just that, using such programs as "The Great Society" and "The War On Poverty".

Yes in my experience, I have run into blacks that dislike me for who I am. I had an incident in the 80s of being called a white boy and slapped by three older black guys.. Then when was a mobile phlebotomist I worked the south Sac area and I had many times that black folks would look at me with such distrust and would actually tell me “I dont trust you”. It was very disheartning. Because I was raised that we are all the same. But I guess not any more.For my whole 40 years I have been taught the judge someone by character not skin. And its just slapped me in the face over and over again. And being called a racist at every turn, makes me feel like if they call me it well maybe I should be. Because they surely are..

Yep - pricey, but ultimately a better deal than the 50-round drums. More importantly, the reduced profile actually makes it useful. Had no idea that Beta was making these - thanks for the tip. Have to find some extra-curricular work to buy a couple of these ones.
I never go into Atlanta- for ANYTHING; I avoid large crowds of young black people and have given up teaching in Atlanta-area public schools. It isn’t racism- it’s fear. They, and I, know that there are no consequences for them if I get hurt. Should I choose to protect myself with my pretty little mini-Glock, *I* will likely be charged with a crime. So, I stay away.
