Fox News is reporting today that some officials in Mexico would like to extradite and prosecute U.S. officials responsible for Operation Fast and Furious because it flooded their country with guns illegally, resulting in the deaths of possibly hundreds of Mexican citizens.
Not like anything of the sort will happen, but it underscores the serious nature of anger south of the border, where those government officials feel betrayed by the United States. There is no small irony today in the fact that President Obama is trying to intercede in Thursday's scheduled execution of a Mexican citizen who was convicted of the 1994 rape and murder of a 16-year-old San Antonio girl. My colleague, David Codrea, writes about it here.
President Barack Obama is attempting to block the execution in Texas on Thursday of a Mexican man because it would breach an international convention and do "irreparable harm" to US interests. The Guardian
And now that the Casey Anthony case has been decided, perhaps more attention will be paid to the gunrunning controversy.
Incredibly, according to The Hill newspaper, the family of slain Border Patrol agent Brian Terry does not want officials here prosecuted, only the straw buyers and gunrunners who may have been involved in moving the murder weapon from a gun shop in this country into the hands of the criminal who killed him.
Yet, as this column reported yesterday, there is ample evidence that quite a few U.S. officials knew about the controversial gunrunning sting operation . It may be some of those officials Mexican authorities want to get their hands on for legal action.

Something else the Lame-Stream Media can ignore.
Let the Mexicans have Eric Holder, for starters.
I heard one small blurb on FOX about this yesterday but nothing since.
Normally, in the name of our sovereignty, I would tell them to kiss my royal a$$, but in this case, more power to them! It will be the only way we could get any accountability from the 0bama regime. The media and the lilly-livered cowards in congress certainly aren’t going to do anything!
Well, as marktwain said, the new media is making a difference. Still it’s as infuriating as all getout.
The MSM is controlled by people who are all of one mind. They are a monolith.
Send them a check, they will quiet down.
That sounds a little flippant, but the fact is they will work out a deal , we will give them something and they will forget about it.
“Let the Mexicans have Eric Holder, for starters.”
The Mexicans can have Obama, Biden, Pelosi, and the rest of the Democrats in the House and Senate too.
First they started with denials......
Our government lies more than Casey Anthony.
LOL!
Well Mexico, weve got about 1,000 of your folks wed like extradited for prosecution here!
...And, oh, by the way, weve got about 50,000 of YOUR FELONS WED LIKE YOU TO TAKE BACK!
EXACTLY!
“The Mexicans can have Obama, Biden, Pelosi, and the rest of the Democrats in the House and Senate too.”
No problem with that. I just want us to have the first shot at those assholes. When we get done with them, the Mexicans can have at it.
Sounds like a good start.

That is not a true statement. He knows full well he has no say in the matter. He is in fact playing a different game on a different field. He is attempting to score points with the antideath penalty euro loyalists of the american left
They want to portray this as a ‘sting’ operation
OK, then it was the most inept ‘sting’ ever, and everyone who knew about it should be immediately fired for being incompetant
They can have Janet Incompitano as well.....
What "sting" operation??
They had no way to track the weapons after they went across the border, there was no way to 'sting' anyone.
I call BS on that!
The only 'sting' was inflating the numbers of allegedly legally purchased firearms which ended up in Mexico from the US, and using that inflated 'data' to try to infringe on our Second Amendment Rights.
For such treasonous behaviour, I'd just as soon let the Mexicans try the higher-ups.
I don’t feel like doing the research, esp since FR is so well-populated with history buffs and people who know these things off the tops of their heads so I’ll just ask the question here (instead of looking it up myself):
What drove the Iran/Contra story? Did the press shoot first, or did the Dems hold congressional hearings on the subject to trumpet it to the world?
The reason I ask is because no matter how much the MSM covers F&F up, it would be hard for them to ignore congressional hearings held by a REPUBLICAN-LED HOUSE into this matter.
Wasn’t the subject of “shipping guns to a country south of our border” one of the big aspects of Iran/Contra?
But regardless of whether there are Iran/Contra parallels here or not, I pose this question: WHAT IS THE REPUBLICAN-LED HOUSE DOING ABOUT FAST & FURIOUS?
