They had no way to track the weapons after they went across the border, there was no way to 'sting' anyone.
I call BS on that!
The only 'sting' was inflating the numbers of allegedly legally purchased firearms which ended up in Mexico from the US, and using that inflated 'data' to try to infringe on our Second Amendment Rights.
For such treasonous behaviour, I'd just as soon let the Mexicans try the higher-ups.

In spite of the proponents of this operations statements that that was the plan, it absolutely never was.
