President Obama enjoys strong, steady support from Jewish Americans amid concerns that he faced an erosion in their backing.
A new Gallup Poll found Monday that 60 percent of Jewish Americans said they approve of the way Obama is handling his job, a figure that's relatively consistent with the high level of support he's enjoyed from that bloc this year.
Thirty-two percent of Jewish Americans said they disapprove of the way the president is handling his job, a figure that hasn't really jumped since May 19, when Obama delivered a major speech outlining a peace process for Israelis and Palestinians.
That speech was sharply rebuked by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and spurred speculation — especially on the right — that Jewish voters who had been aligned with Democrats might shift their support away from Obama.
That storyline has prompted some coverage, and Democrats have been sensitive to the charge; the Democratic National Committee recently went out of its way to boast that a fundraiser featuring Jewish Democrats in Washington was oversold.
The Gallup Poll, conducted throughout June, has a 7 percent margin of error.
What do they think Republicans would do, if elected, that would affect them negatively?
Another way to look at it is that 18% of the people who voted for him are unhappy because he's not sufficiently Leftist. Just because some people are unhappy with him does not mean that they will vote Republican in 2012.

Here in NYC, for the folks who pay all the taxes for schools etc. that they don't use, the enthusiasm for Soetero is waning. For them, the govt is a value extractor, not an employer or source of wealth/power.

You're assuming too much rationality on their part. Hatred for the GOP and "the right" is a matter of social snobbery, not intelligent calculation.
I don't say that lightly. It's based on decades of exposure to their narrow social world.

again, I guarantee that poll did NOT include the honest % of orthodox jews, whose lives are invisible in the mainstream press. they detest obama, love israel, and want to be left alone. your 80% is correct for **secular** high-profile jews.

It is actually quite understandable if anyone would actually teach HISTORY in school.
Google “The Bund,” or “Jewish Bund,” and you will see that this is the collection of groups which made up most of the Jewish immigration into this country, primarily in NY, after the Russian Revolution.
Montgomery county is definitely that way. We last went there about 5 years ago. Amazing how easy it is to AVOID that place.
Most jews I know, and I know MANY MANY MANY, are not really religious at all, but are extreme secular liberals whose motivating force is hatrd of christianty more than anything as for the reasn they vote for communist democrats.
God’s Promises to Israel
God promised Abraham that out of him would come a great nation. God is not going to let that nation be destroyed. In Jeremiah 31:35-37 God said something very important about the nation of Israel. In this passage God tells us that one of three things must happen if the nation of Israel is to be destroyed. If none of these three things happens, then the nation of Israel will never be destroyed and will never stop being a nation. Let’s see what these three things are:
1) The day-night cycle must be stopped (Jeremiah 31:35-36). God is saying, “If you want the nation of Israel to stop being a nation then you must find a way to stop the day from coming after the night and stop the night from coming after the day.”
2) The heavens must be measured (Jeremiah 31:37). God is saying, “If you want the nation of Israel to stop being a nation then you must be able to tell Me how many stars there are in My Universe.” Even if men build bigger and better telescopes, do you think they will ever be able to see all the stars in the universe? ______
3) The foundations of the earth must be searched out (Jeremiah 31:37). God is saying, “If you want the nation of Israel to stop being a nation then you must be able to dig a hole to the center of the earth.” Will man ever be able to do this? _______
God will not break these promises to Israel! If the enemies of Israel want to be successful, then they need to find some way to stop the sun from rising, they need to start building much better telescopes, and they need to get busy digging to the center of the earth! The Jews do not need to worry. Their future is quite safe!

Well to begin with the poll was conducted by GALLUP. That makes is suspect right there. I don’t know but I cannot help but believe ALL polling organizations have records by phone number (if not by name) of people that can be collated in a variety of special interests. I believe they know the makeup of many of the households they “randomly” poll. I believe they are fairly certain when they call what the response will be. I believe they know what time of day gets what kind of results they are seeking. Somebody has to pay for the poll. The organizations are not altruistic. They sell information garnered by their polls. They are contracted to do this work and if I’m contracting them for a poll to support my candidate you can rest assured I will stress verbally how I think the polling should be handled and have the exact wording of the question.Be logical. Think about how many polls are conducted. How easy is it to categorize each phone number and develop it’s profile. I believe they use the profiles as a baseline to see if support has shifted for any questioned. Sorry, the cynic in me says all polls are rigged to provide the outcome desired. As for the Jews in America continuing to support Rat policy against Israel, this should not be a surprise. They are in a state of denial and blindness and still long for the peeks and onions in Egypt (read Exodus).
7% is big. I choose to then take the position instead of a 60-32 favoring Obama, the number is 52-39, still favorable but not really close to the 78% who voted for him.
Yours is a view taken and espoused by many on the Left to explain Obama’s tanking (real) poll numbers. They say he is not liberal enough.

I live in NYC and over this weekend spent time with many Jewish friends most of whom are very affluent and can be considered politiclly center-left. I spoke with roughly 20+ and it is clear that 75% of them are disgusted with Obama and not likely to support him.
The real issue is can the Republicans find a viable candidate.
