It's official. Every abortion provider in the state of Kansas has been denied a license to continue operating as of July 1. As we reported last week, strict new state laws put in place this month threatened to close the remaining three abortion clinics in Kansas. The staff of one of these facilities, a Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland Park, initially thought their operation could survive the strict new standards. But on Thursday afternoon, Planned Parenthood announced that the Overland Park clinic have thus far been denied a license to continue operatingeffectively cutting off access to legal abortion in the entire state.
The new law, which takes effect Friday, establishes new standards for abortion providersstandards apparently designed to make compliance difficult. The rules require changes to the size and number of rooms, compel clinics to have additional supplies on hand, and even mandate room temperatures for the facilities. Given that the rules were released less than two weeks before clinics were expected to be in compliance, many providers knew they wouldn't be able to obtain a license to continue operating. The laws, often called "targeted regulation of abortion providers," or TRAP laws, are an increasingly common legislative maneuver to limit access to abortion by redering it tough, if not impossible, for providers to comply.
Tie Liberals up in knots by throwing fistfulls of bureaucratic regulations at ‘em. I’d like to meet the guy who thought of this and buy him a beer.
Good...
Hooray for Kansas. Just remember that rust never sleeps and evil never relents...
The article’s tone suggests the author is unhappy with this outcome.
So we are finally learning a few tricks from the EPA?
Awesome!
How long until a federal judge determines otherwise?
Next week?

“”...Planned Parenthood received a license Thursday from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, after initially being denied but having inspectors visit its clinic in Overland Park a second time.””
I’m surprised this made it past the liberal judges. I was sure PP would sue and a judge would stop enforcement regardless of the merit of the suit.
Liberals set the precedent for this nonsense with their ridiculous laws on firearms so they should not complain when their own tactics are used against them.
Sounds like the rules that have been required of all medical facilities for the past few years. Abortion clinics have been exempt from many of these for years because of political protection.
You mean a leftist judge hasn’t declared this unconstitutional yet?
Looks like our side has learned something from the gun-banning politicians. Death by a thousand paper cuts.
Planned Parenthood is challenging this in court and will most likely win. The KS SC is much more liberal then the general population.
Such a great concept....outlaw murder of human beings. Wow...Kansas gets it. Slippery slope! Killing people doesn’t matter where the location.....all human beings have inalienable rights.
Since abortion has been linked to breast cancer if done before a full-term pregnancy, one would think that the obamacare nutz would be pleased to see less abortion.
Abortion, as with smoking, is a dangerous health practice.
