It appears that Elijah Cummings is a Washington Post reader and wants to explore their theory that the NRA and weak gun laws are to blame for the ATF's Gunwalking Program.

Elijah Cummings will fall on sharpened razor blades to protect Holder and Obama. He has a difficult task in front of him as the players are ready to tell the truth about this whole sordid Obama mess. Barry's secret gun grabbing tactic, the ‘Under The Radar’ plan, is under the radar no more.

Obama is prohibiting the ATF head from testifying to Congress.

"Melson has an open invitation to appear on Capitol Hill. So far, he has not been given Justice Department approval to appear before Congress."

I love that editorial.

It’s like they are saying, “Sure the ATF allowed guns to be sold to drug cartel members and sure some of those guns were used to kill Brian Terry but all that is just because the NRA keeps convincing congress to limit their funding”.

How the heck can people even think this stuff up? I mean...really...’give them more money so they can stop killing people’ shouldn’t be something that pops into a normal person’s head.

I think the assertion that Chuck-U was an ATF agent are a lie.

That part of the stonewall is falling next month, according to this report.

The head of the embattled federal agency that combats gun trafficking has agreed to talk with Senate investigators, a potentially important breakthrough as Congress tries to determine whether higher-ups in the Obama administration knew about a controversial sting that let assault weapons flow across the border into Mexico’s drug wars.

The testimony—expected next month from Kenneth Melson, the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives—was brokered as part of a deal between Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and the committee’s top Republican, Iowa's Charles Grassley. Grassley and his fellow Republicans were given full access to ATF documents, Melson, and other key witnesses; and in return, Grassley agreed to release three Obama administration nominees he had been blocking, according to correspondence obtained by NEWSWEEK and THE DAILY BEAST.

I think there is a missing (optional) comma, causing you to misread the sentence. They mean Schumer, an agent, and various gungrabbers.

Oh please. The only reason they want to do this is they are out of power and desperately want people to believe their load of crap.

As I posted to a thread on this yesterday regarding the alleged “agreement” for Melson to testify:

“Obama, Holder, the “Higher ups” aren’t going to allow any damned Republican investigation to review openly anything, or anyone that could incriminate them.”

Issa did take it to them - he waved a completely black sheet that was “redacted” at one of the ATF guys and asked him if this is what he meant by “full cooperation”.

Oh yeah I’m sure the Democrats will be objective and interested in the facts of the case... (sarcasm off)

Yeah, and good for Issa for shoving that one in their faces, but my point was about the really phony BS about allowing Melson to testify if (I think it was Grassley) was to remove his hold on the Obama nominations. RIIIIIIIIGHT!

Charlie, meet Lucy, and her trick football.

You are probably right, but I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to heap scorn on Chuck-U.

Did any photographers take pictures of that particular moment, or are there any public copies of the fully black papers?

Thanks! The idea that anyone believed Obama’s promises of transparency makes me ill.

My pleasure, though it’s not my picture. I found it in another discussion, but it does capture the response of the administration to this scandal.
