Bachmann was in my top four (well behind Palin but a candidate I could support and volunteer in her campaign). She's still there, although I'll admit that I'm more than a bit curious what happened behind the scenes both in her campaign and between her and Palin after Rollins again demonstrated his flaws. So long as Sarah supports her or at least doesn't come out against Michele Bachmann, I'm not going to hold that against Bachmann to the extent of risking the 2012 election.
More than anything else in the world, what matters for the next two years is not just removing the anti-American communist from our White House but replacing that druggie with someone who will dismantle ObamaCare and the rest of the Chicago thug's legacy. Bachmann is one of the few who would do exactly that, and I'm not going to reject her over whether an apology was given in public, in private, or not at all. To do so would play into Romney's hands, and that would spell the end of America.

We fully recognize the religious and ethical concerns which many Americans have about abortion. We also recognize the belief of many Americans that a woman has a right to choose whether and when to have a child. The Democratic Party supports the 1973 Supreme Court decision on abortion rights as the law of the land and opposes any constitutional amendment to restrict or overturn that decision. Furthermore, we pledge to support the right to be free of environmental and worksite hazards to reproductive health of women and men. Frequently, the only sources of medical care for much of the inner city population is the public general hospital. Immediate support is required for financially distressed public hospitals that provide a major community service in urban and rural areas. In underserved areas where public hospitals have already been closed because of financial difficulty, we must explore methods for returning the needed hospitals to active service. We must develop financial stability for these hospitals. Our approach should stress system reforms to assure that more primary medical care is provided in free-standing community centers, while the hospital is used for referral services and hospitalization. Unlike their predecessors, every move and utterance is recorded and able to be either highlighted or buried by the media.
Even worse is the ease with which myth is turned into truth by the media's repeating of lies over and over until they are accepted. If you asked 100 people who said "I can see Russia from my house" probably 95% would say it was Sarah Palin.
In a similar fashion, important things happen and if no one ever hears about it, it's like it never occurred. Yesterday, WI Freshman Senator Ron Johnson ripped Congress a new one over not having produced a budget for the past two years, (as is their Constitutional duty btw). He also indicated he will be withholding his consent for future Senatorial proceedings until this issue is addressed.
This is pretty big stuff - how many people even had a clue it happened?

I think that Ronald Reagan was. He had spent the previous 25 years thinking about policy issues, writing and delivering a series of radio addresses that discussed national problems and offered possible solutions to them. He was governor of the largest state in the union for two terms, faced down obnoxious students and grasping unions, and left the state in better financial shape than he had found it. By the time Reagan became President, he has been tested and was ready to assume its mantle.
