Update on my son in Afghanistan:

Robert's wife has reported that she received a cell phone call from him yesterday. He had borrowed a cell phone from a soldier in his regiment that works in-country. There is an otherwise complete blackout of communication where he is at this time. No further information could be shared.

Another update:

I just completed an online chat with my son. He is fine, though still not back to his assigned FOB. His regiment is going through debriefings, so his length of time to make contact is minimal.

The feeling of relief is huge right now.

Still in pain after second steroid shot and need the wheelchair. Rehab starts next Wednesday; they've always done wonders

That is very good news. My som is doing okay wher he is at. But he will be reassigned after his leave, which involves his becoming a father for the first time. We will meet him in Columbus, GA in a couple of months. Take care.
