Or "Blagos & Penal". ;)
Great post!
I agree. My guess is 'Bammy and 'Rammy are the ones sweating now.
I wonder how many State Gov’s have ever been found guilty of crimes of this magnitude.
It has to be a fairly small and distinguished group.
“My guess is ‘Bammy and ‘Rammy are the ones sweating now.”
Don’t forget about what’s-his-name, and his daughter in the Illinois Legislature.
You won't get any of that from Winston.
Hope he starts talking about Obama’s involvement...wonder how they got so rich? Of course they deserve the money.
Schadenfreude for the freepers who defended this scumbag and claimed “Fitz is a overzealous hack who has no case” and that “Blago will walk”.
Gotta wonder about those “conservatives”. Apparently they were so bitter about the Scooter Libby case (it’s unfathomable to believe a person with an “R” next to his name who happened to work for Dick Cheney could have done ANYTHING wrong, of course!), that they defended ANYONE else Fitzgerald indicted, including the sleaziest Chicago machine crooks on the planet, hoping those criminals would skate so it would make Fitz look bad. Some “conservatives” even claimed the indictment of uber-RINO George Ryan was “partisan”, despite the fact the only people defending Ryan were liberals. Shame on them. Shades of the O.J. defenders who hoped he got off just so they could “stick it to the man”.
Of course their original talking point about Fitzgerald, that he was a “partisan Democrat”, was proven wrong a long time ago whne he brought down Tony Rezko and a bunch of Daley henchmen, and was especially dead and buried after he indicted the top RAT official in Illinois. Yeah, no doubt conservative Republican Senator Peter Fitzgerald just loved recommending “partisan Democrats” to George W. Bush, right?
The shocking thing is they STILL can’t admit Fitz had a case. They’ll claim all kinds of conspircy theory stuff that he cut a backroom deal with Dems. Earlier, they claimed he was “angling to be Attorney General for Hillary Clinton”. If Fitz indicted Obama himself, they’d claim he cut a “backroom deal with Joe Biden” to be A.G. in Biden’s adminstration after Obama is forced out. Nothing will ever please the Fitz haters.
Let’s hope a particularly vengeful Blagojevich decides to name names from his prison cell. And of course, I wouldn’t be surprised in Pat Quinn got indicted sometime in the future. Illinois needs a three-peat on slimey combine Governor indictments.
If he's going to squeal it'll be a longish time away as the appeal process will go into gear and it wouldn't be wise to rat out anyone during this time period.
He was rather stoic when the verdicts were read....but then seemed to go into a state of shock. He put his arms around his wife Patty and whispered something warm into her ear. Some say it was "I love you". She then fell into her brother's (or brother-inlaw's) arms, crying and in shock.
Leni
He could be put in prisons in nearby states including Indiana and Wisconsin. The perfesser stated that "none of them are Club Feds".

Wonder if this opens anything up on Barry.
guilty is as addicting as pistaccio nuts
...well..........have you ever tried to eat just one pistaccio ?
( from Abby ...sorta )
There’s no honor among rats...in fact, if he starts talking, I expect he’ll be found hanging from his bed sheet in an “apparent” suicide. These vermin make the Mafia look like a reputable crew.
Blagojevich - I believe Im more pristine on Rezko than him.
Very likly true. Blago knows about the dirty connections between Rezko and Obama.
What’s his face the Fed Chitown DA... Fitzgerald cut-off the investigation prematurely to protect Obama or whoever other Dem who could have dealt with Blago over the Senate seat.
Come on Blago sing to the public about Obama.
Bummer for Blago. Hope he sing like a Canary. Meanwhile, as Charles Bukowski always said, “I don’t like Jail. They have the wrong kind of Bars in there”.
Very good points...I have never been to prison, as in Real prison, in my younger days I was sentence to one term of 30 days in the local jail, got out on Christmas morning..actually only served 14 days. Those 14 days seemed like 14 years, it was terrible!
Remember the Christmas morning I got out, the guards all said...you`ll be back...For sure I never was..Thank God
I can not imagine doing 1 year, let alone dying in prison.
Blogo will die in prison baring some extraordinary appeal (aint happening)
So I find myself saying..poor guy for a couple minutes, I am already over it.
Picking weeds..not a bad idea.
However, remember what happened to Ford when he pardoned Nixon?
It's quite a snarl.
Ohhhh, I'd let him off on good behavior after ten... as long as he sing, sing, sings loud and clear. I want the public to know about the whole dirty deal that is Chicago politics. From vote fraud, to zoning, to protection rackets... ALL of it. It's high time.
Hell, if he did that and a passel of crooks went off to jail, you know what? I'd commute his sentence and set him up in witness protection. You see, that's another moral lesson, that forgiveness is necessarily alloyed to repentance and REAL restitution. It's high time for that too. It's what redemption is all about.
DEADLOCKED on Rahm shakedown...
Blago to lawyer: ‘What happened?’
‘I frankly am stunned’...
CHICAGO (WLS) - Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich turned to defense attorney Sheldon Sorosky and asked “What happened?” after he was found guilty of 17 of 20 charges in his corruption retrial.
His wife, Patti Blagojevich, slumped against her brother, then rushed into her husband’s arms after the verdicts were read Monday by federal Judge James Zagel.
Before the verdicts were read, both Blagojeviches looked flushed, and the former governor blew his wife a kiss before standing expressionless, with his hands clasped tightly.
Blagojevich kept his comments short upon leaving the Dirksen Federal Building. He said he and Patti look forward to getting home and explaining the decision to their family.
“Patti and I obviously are very disappointed in the outcome. I frankly am stunned. There’s not much left to say other than we want to get home to our little girls and talk to them and explain things to them and then try to sort things out,” Blagojevich said.
Zagel barred Blagojevich from traveling outside the northern district of Illinois without permission. A status hearing for sentencing was set for Aug. 1.
