Via POLITICO's Jennifer Epstein, Michele Bachmann isn't accepting an apology from Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace for asking her yesterday, "Are you a flake?" Continue Reading
ABC News' Jon Karl, who's been getting face-time with Bachmann in Waterloo in advance of her formal campaign announcement, played a clip of the web video in which Wallace said, "I messed up. I'm sorry."
When Karl asked if she accepts the apology, Bachmann brushed aside the question this way: "I think that it's insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious."

They argue against his policies but they never question Obama or his background.
By the way, I wouldn’t put Krauthammer in the same category as Cavuto and Hume. Krauthammer is a rovebot.
A Christian would accept the apology.
This makes Bachmann look worse than Wallace.
Bad mistake.
I wasn’t aware Sarah Palin was a candidate.
A potential candidate is not a candidate. You won’t support Bachmann at any cost. So if she’s the nominee (a long shot of course) against Obama you won’t vote for her if Ed Rollins is still on her payroll?
I agree with Post #14. She does act like a flake sometimes but more importantly she should just let the criticism roll off her like a politician should. I have the same problem with my governor who told a reporter when asked if he sent his children to public school that it was none of her business. He should have said that he was PROUD but obliged to send his children to private school even though he paid $38,000 in property taxes the previous year. If people don’t have a thick skin, they certainly don’t belong in politics.
Why would you ask any candidate if they are a flake? It is simply pigeon holing her into the same spot they’ve put Palin and every other Tea Party candidate. He should be fired.
It is time to stop going on those silly shows to be asked insulting questions.
Pray for America
I agree Mesta...and was surprised Bachman didn’t respond in a way that she could have and made some real points by doing so.
Wallace might have better framed the remark...but she didn’t do well in her response IMO. She has to get on mark or she’ll never make it thru the first part of what’s coming with the press....friend or foe.
I don’t agree. I know its politically correct in this day and age and somehow the person originally offended ends up getting the short end of the stick if they don’t kiss and make up, but, there is something to be said in this getting older man’s outlook for someone actually calling BS on these clowns. And, of course it would take a woman to do it because the 2011 man is even further gone off the politically correct cliff.
I agree. She blew that interview big time. Her answers sucked and were milk toast. Rollins is ruining her. She sounds like Romney.
She simply didn’t answer if she was accepting the apology. She is ignoring the little turd in her statement, reducing him to nothing more than a pesky mosquito and that is far better than her name calling him a liberal misogynist in public.
Well, Rush tried to save Chris Wallace last Friday by singling Chris Wallace out saying he, unlike the rest of the media figures, he is ‘not a tool’. How much do you want to bet me that today Rush will have a different opinion? How much do you want to bet! Chris Wallace IS A TOOL. Circumcised or Un, I don’t know, but he is a tool.
What apology? A real man would have made the apology in the first person.
Thumbs up!!! Nice point.
But Wallace may have inadvertently tipped us off to how the left plans to attack Michele should she become our nominee. She'll get the Cristine O'Donnell treatment. Worked last time.
I watched it an I thought he made a fool of himself asking such a ridiculous question.
The problem is the way Wallace phrased it. If he had asked :”Some in your own party have accused you of being a flake. How do you respond?” it would have been acceptable. He came off as more asking :”Defend yourself flake”.
You dont see Wallace asking Palin insult questions like that even though I have seen a number of (silly) posts here claiming FNC is fighting a war against Palin.
“....A Christian would accept the apology. This makes Bachmann look worse than Wallace. Bad mistake....”
I am a Christian and I disagree. This was an insult not only to MB, but to everybody who supports her and who has donated to her and even to all those who respect her but do not support her for President. It was an insult in a way to the entire tea party movement.
It was not simply an insult to her, and therefore it is not her apology to accept totally. She learned the lesson GWB NEVER EVER learned- and I commend her for it. And BTW, she’s not my first choice for Prez.
I disagree. It’s high time we stop playing nice. Wallace doesn’t mean it and she shouldn’t accept it. You can’t tell me he doesn’t still with his smug smile think he was right. Like the establishment Republican party, these people have to chisel away at the serious conservatives with their snide and petty questions. Attack, retreat, attack again.
