As the second Gaza Freedom Flotilla gets ready to sail this week, Irish Foreign Minister Eamon Gilmore urged Israel to avoid any repeat of last year's actions against the convoy, Irish media reported Sunday. "Israel must exercise all possible restraint and avoid any use of military force if attempting to uphold their naval blockade," Gilmore, who also holds the post of trade minister, said after meeting with Israeli Ambassador to Dublin Boaz Moda. "In particular, I would expect that any interception of ships is conducted in a peaceful manner and does not endanger the safety of our citizens or other

What the hell do they think “blockade” means? “3rd grade note passing?”
It seems to them that a blockade means that you just sit there and ask them to stop nicely.
Ever wonder why Gaza constantly needs ‘aid’ in the first place? Is there some recurring natural disaster that I’ve missed?...or maybe these people let themselves be used as pawns in a global war on Israel...and that hasn’t really worked out for them.
I have a better idea. Israel can withdraw it’s ambassador from Ireland, kick out the Irish ambassador and warn that rather than risk the safety of any IDF servicemen, the flotilla will be stopped by laser-guided bombs.
I wish the IDF would just torpedo one of these garbage scows and be done with it.
We are the World,...We are the Children.
We continue to deal with the shit-storm created by the terms that palis demand after England created such.
They have no care; they have NO moderation. Their religion tells them that they must kill.....to get... into to paradise. Really?
Let's work this out. So you believe in a Supreme benevolent being wanting to be "worshipped from his lowly creation? Is that how it worked for this majic/mystical being to bring about conscience thought? That he should be woreshipped? Okay. So you don't believe in a Supreme God? That's okay...I don't either. So what caused all this to happen in such a leaner flow? Accident? Hardly! Too many variables. Design? Possibly. But who would designs such a space in time? And for what purpose?
My understanding is that Israel will use Naval forces, not military forces to stop the flotilla. In particular I would recommend the use of submarines with torpedoes. Big, big torpedoes, that would crack the ship in two, and cause the nearly immediate loss of all hands. Perhaps a kiloton or two.
Of course they could announce that they had mined the waterways there.
Eventually the useful idiots will have to pay the price for their idiocy. By sinking the ships, their insurance companies would suffer a loss, and would recommend against further violating the blockade.
Go have another Stout and shut up, idiot.
Who cares what Ireland thinks anyway? In the scale of European Powers, they are behind Italy and Portugal when it comes to military might.
If Israel does anything, anything at all to harm the flotilla, Ireland will immediately dispatch it’s massive military forces to seek revenge, as soon as they can find someone to loan them enough money to buy fuel.
I just hope Bill Ayres and B. Dorn are on board when the torpedo splits the hull. Then rake the water with a .50 cal for survivors.
Anyone trying to bust a blockade has put themselves in danger.
Israel hasn’t.
It would be so cool for Israel to put a great big bulls-eye on each of those ships during the darkness of the early morning hours.
considering Ireland has no navy nor any means whatsoever to prevent an invasion of their own shores other than being rescued by the Limeys and the Yanks, I’d say it’s a little cheeky them telling another nation how act.
By sinking the ships, their insurance companies would suffer a loss, and would recommend against further violating the blockade.
Insurance! What an interesting thought. Who owns these ships? Who is insuring them? Just the threat of few Iranian mines in the Straits of Hormuz would cause the insurance companies to deny coverage and then the tankers would stay in port. Of course, these are probably disposable tramp freighters. Still, I wonder what bureaucratic pressure could be brought to bear?
I don’t think tramp steamers are disposable, nor are the crews.
In Somalia, the insurance companies write the rules of engagement. Merchies have a rule that they carry the crew’s pay with them, so they are always a target.
A merchie was hired by the Sri Lanka government to bring 120mm mortars and ammunition to Sri Lanka. The freighter was owned over by the Tamil Tigers, and they diverted the cargo to the Tigers, in addition go getting paid in advance by the government for shipment. A loud time was had, sadly, by the Sri Lanka government forces.

"I would expect that any interception of ships is conducted in a peaceful manner and does not endanger the safety of our citizens or...""...anyone except Israelis. Killing Israelis is still okay."
