The ban was put on hold last year after animal advocates broadened it to include anything with fur or feathers. Now it's back, with a new name and a new strategy: More is more. The Humane Pet Acquisition Proposal is on its way to the Board of Supervisors, and it hopes

Truth be told, San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. One day, I hope civilized people will live there.

SF has rapidly become a Nazi police state. That’s too bad.

But won’t this create a gerbil shortage in SF?

“When gerbils are outlawed, only outlaws will have gerbils.”

RIP what could have been a great city of the world but became ‘Amsterdam on the Pacific’ w/out the freedom. The city SiFi writers joked about.

Close.

Next week they will ban all live human births as an affront to the newly passed “required abortion” bill, which was entitled “China didn’t go far enough.”

Humans (well, except for the ones who can afford to live in SF) are a drag on mother gaea and cannot be allowed to continue.

First no circumcision, then no buying pets.
They should just combine them and outlaw spay and neutering.

They do, they just don't make the news.

Urban areas reduce freedom by their nature, but this is some serious craziness.

Will the ban apply to seeing eye dogs and other service animals as well. The city of San Francisco will have any ordinance that includes service animals over turned by the federal courts. Service animals are a protected class I beieve. Protected by federal statue.

I am disappointed ~ after reading the title of the thread ~ that the subject of “gerbils” took the fourth post before it came up.

Somebody should do an art exhibit, a contrast and comparison with how San Francisco used to be, family friendly, with children playing in the parks and people walking their dogs and families spending time together. Then show a comparison with how San Fran is now with empty parks. No life - no living.

LOL, the San Fransicko Nazis have really been on a tear the past few years!
Good. The people there deserve exactly what they vote for.

the parks are full enough yet... but rather than with wholesome things, they are full with sickos and criminals and freaks.
