U2 and its frontman Bono, known for their global poverty-fighting efforts, were accused of dodging taxes in Ireland by activists who crashed their performance at England's Glastonbury festival.
The anti-capitalist group Art Uncut inflated a 6-metre balloon emblazoned with the message "U Pay Your Tax 2." Security guards wrestled them to the ground before deflating the balloon and taking it away. About 30 people were involved in the angry clash.
"Tax(es) nestling in the band's bank account should be helping to keep open the hospitals, schools and libraries that are closing all over Ireland," Art Uncut member Charlie Dewar said ahead of the protest.
U2, the country's most successful band, was heavily criticized in 2006 for moving its corporate base from Ireland to the Netherlands, where royalties on music incur virtually no tax.

I’ve heard that too. The Rolling Stones hade to get out of the US by midnight after some concert, or they would have paid taxes. Some rock stars apparently live in multiple different countries and only stay long enough to avoid taxes in each.

Bono has used his (Biblical and Literal) talents to do more good than all of the tax money 100xs over that the government could have used to “help the poor”. If you spout his politics then you dont know anything about him.
Not to defend Bono (who has an IQ only slightly higher than your local amoeba) ...but just how much taxes has he paid over the years?
Compared perhaps to how much taxes have been paid by the sum of the top 100 leftists in the Irish government?

But we should all do whatever we can to pay the smallest amount of taxes possible within the law.
