Kellogg's Corn Pops
The cereal business is not what is used to be, at least for products that are not considered "healthy." Among those is Kellogg's Corn Pops ready-to-eat cereal. Sales of the brand dropped 18% over the year that ended in April, down to $74 million. That puts it well behind brands like Cheerios and Frosted Flakes, each which have sales of over $200 million a year. Private label sales have also hurt sales of branded cereals. Revenues in this category were $637 million over the same April-end period. There is also profit margin pressure on Corn Pops because of the sharp increase in corn prices. Kellogg's describes the product as being "crispy, glazed, crunchy, sweet." Corn Pops also contain mono- and diglycerides, used to bind saturated fat, and BHT for freshness, which is also used in embalming fluid. None of these are likely to be what mothers want to serve their children in an age in which a healthy breakfast is more likely to be egg whites and a bowl of fresh fruit.

I try to buy all of my cereal at Aldi. It tastes good, and is a little more than half the price of the name brands.
People eat Corn Flakes when they'd rather have the vastly superior Frosted Flakes, because they want to eat healthier. Corn Flakes and Frosted Flakes have almost exactly the same amount of sugar! It's just outside where it belongs on Frosted Flakes.
Nothing beats Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, though Reeses Puffs come pretty close.
Bread
Meat
Salad (lettuce and tomato)
and an additional green vegetable (pickle)
and if you eat it with a shake or milk you got dairy covered too!
Seriously, I am guessing eating a hamburger is the only time most people even eat lettuce and tomatoes
Some guys think small and can’t figure out why they are only scraping by year after year even with their ‘margin increasing’ activities.
Meanwhile a Starbucks or a Little Caesar’s Pizza grows exponentially.
You forgot the most important THREE food groups: Candy Corn, Candy Cane and Syrup.
Looks like A&W diet root beer will survive, my favorite.
Yup, going after "big cereal" as soon as I
finish with airline dress code here.
I used to eat Pink Panther Flakes. Turned the milk pink....
Yep, I remember when “Corn Pops” were “Sugar Pops”.
And remember when “Frosted Flakes” were “Sugar Frosted Flakes”?
And “Honey Smacks” were “Sugar Smacks”?
The word “sugar” became a dirty word somewhere along the way. If you read the labels, these cereals are still packed with sugar. It’s just not in the name anymore.
Deep fried in pure whale blubber. The fryer is heated with coal.
That IS a tasty burger!
Ah, the good ol’ days....
What did drunken, dateless college students do before SNL?
In my hometown, the local Sears and K-Mart are within a quarter mile of each other. The K-Mart lot is always empty while the Wal-Mart, another mile and a quarter toward the edge of town, is always full.
I’ve never understood how K-Mart stays in business.
I miss the honesty. “Yes, our cereal is loaded with sugar and we’re proud of it!”

I remember Post “Rice Krinkles”, which I think was a sugary cereal similar to Rice Krispies, but was sugary.
The kiss of death for that cereal was the Oriental cartoon character on the box and the commercials. That would never fly today.
When I was in college the cafeteria was closed on Saturday morning so our standard fare was chocolate cake and tomato soup and we thought it was wonderful.
