Bachmann Claims Big Lead Among Iowa
Conservatives In New Poll

Rep. Michele Bachmann has taken a substantial lead in the presidential race among Iowa conservatives, according to a new poll. The poll, conducted by the 2012 Iowa Report, finds Bachmann with 33% support among conservatives, more than double the next contender, Herman Cain (15%).

Bachmann’s Iowa polling numbers have risen dramatically over the past two weeks which included her campaign announcement and the GOP presidential debate. Among likely caucus goers, Bachmann also received 33% of the votes with 29% of likely voters thinking the Minnesota congresswoman will “ultimately win” the nomination.

Other key findings:

-- The race for the coveted “three tickets out of Iowa” is still very much up for grabs with five candidates (or potential candidates) receiving double-digit support (Cain 15%, Romney 13%, Palin 11%, Paul 10%)
-- One-fourth of Iowa conservatives are still unsure who will ultimately win.
-- Sarah Palin is still poised to make a major play in Iowa with 11% support among conservatives even though she has not announced her intensions.
-- Ron Paul gains the most among likely caucus goers (+2.3%) while Mitt Romney loses the most (-2.9%)

The 2012 Iowa Report Poll, a project of Grassfire Nation, is a special survey of Iowa conservatives conducted weekly to help measure where Iowa conservatives stand on the 2012 Republican presidential field.

If she wins Iowa, we’re all in trouble.

If she wins Iowa, she's going to be the frontrunner unless Perry or Palin gets in.

Romney is no more a legitimate frontrunner that Giuliani was four years ago.

We don’t need a 3-way even split of the conservative vote at 15% each in SC so Mitt can waltz to the nomination with 25% of the vote.

Three way split between who?

If Bachmann wins Iowa, any other conservative should drop out and endorse her.

If Perry enters the race, he'll make Mitt and afterthought since his economic record is far better.

because a palin supporter would never be zotted on this site.

Trolls acting like Palin cultists are only out to damage Palin by making people think her supporters are drooling idiots. They should be zotted. Real Palin supporters don't post foolish conspiracy theories and other such nonsense.

Well, I don't see anything at all in that statement that denies anything. Quite the contrary, it's another artful dodge by Palin to avoid saying anything substantive about her intentions. If the tour isn't canceled, what possible reason would you have to not saying, "Hey, tour still on"!?

Didn't Palin already announce that there would be several more legs of the bus tour?

How many times do you want her to say it? Does she need to say it every time the media lies about it?

Why would a person who wants to cancel a bus tour, not make a public announcement about the cancellation?

The viscous attacks against her will hurt her to some extent. You will see some conservatives saying; “well I like her, but I don't know if she is electable”

...and so will the weak sisters of conservatism make themselves known.

She said the tour hasn't been cancelled.

Just another online poll, if you go to the link they ask you to invite your friends and neighbors to take part in the poll.

It`s a joke! and BTW I was not suggesting that MB does not have support in Iowa, she does, just not to this extent, and Sarah Palin would not have been way way behind.

This is just another poll, first person to get their supporters their wins. Just like how Ron Paul wins all the straw polls, also Dems can take this poll as well

Good observation. The invincible Willard is already losing his invincibility... and it’s still very early.

Who knows, but the time Iowa comes around he might actually get fewer votes than Global Asshole Newt.

Your post #46 is a good one and I agree with a lot of it, though I don’t agree with the two implied conclusions that Bachmann can’t win and that if she did win she couldn’t clean out the stygian stables of Marxism in our government.

She will definitely do a good job as President if elected, and she can definitely get elected against the Kenyan King, despite all that the media tries to throw against her.

However, with some of the thoughts of your post in mind, I do not put her at the top of my wish-list of candidates:

1. Palin
2. Perry
3. Bachmann

But since #1 and #2 haven’t declared, that leaves her currently my number 1 pick among those now running.

Anyway, again, your post #46 was well-written and well-thought-out.

Maybe the person doing the survey didn’t understand. The person questioned probably said, “Newt? Sure!”, instead of “Not sure” LOL...

I like many of Bachmann's positions but a) a congressman/woman has almost no national presence and would be very difficult to run.

That's your (and all other conservatives') job.

Happy for Cain so far. :) Up to 17 percent among the likely caucus goers.

Yes we Cain!
