Pixar Animation mastermind John Lasseter says the company has no environmental agenda, but with "Cars 2," the blockbuster outfit does tap into today's eco-mindedness with a plot driven by oil vs. a cleaner alternative.
Debuting in U.S. theaters Friday, "Cars 2" sends race car Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) on a World Grand Prix circuit whose organizer fuels the vehicles with a green alternative called Allinol, prompting the bad guys to try to discredit the new power supply that threatens traditional gasoline.

I think this thread already addresses Cars 2.
If not about conservation (and gluttony, sloth, etc.), then what was the message of WALL-E?
Rampant over-consumption? Good. People buy tons of shit they can’t pay for. They get tricked into buying it just to keep up with the neighbors or to make themselves feel better (like a fat chick and a half-gallon of Rocky Road). Somebody needs to call them on it. I’d rather see people (or even corporations like Disney) pointing out our flaws than have the government do it by mandate.
As a conservative, there was absolutely NOTHING about WALL-E that made me uncomfortable with myself (other than my extra 25 lbs, of which I have lost 20, thank you ;) So, thanks, WALL-E.
Sounds like the movie is being conservative in it’s views on fossil fuel and our future.
For his own good, you should forbid it and tell him to never mention it again. That’s the only way he’ll grow up ok.
Wall-E was nothing more than the animated version of algore’s the “Day After Tomorrow”...the “where all doomed if we don’t drastically change our way of life yesterday” nutcases...
i was not uncomfortable with Wall-E either- i laughed my butt off at it...and while i enjoy pixar movies to dismiss that lassiter has a far left wing ideology in his movies is just ignorant...
I agree, though I wasn’t much taken with Ratatouille (don’t like the dish much either.)
I wasn’t dismissing Lassiter’s political aims, but if he had a lefty point to make in WALL-E, he screwed the pooch.
Sometimes, the Left makes our case for us, and I’m OK with that.
A malevolent form, yes.
I believe the cars will be powered by unicorn skittle poop.
The more I look at the problems with other fuels and batteries, the more I know gasoline isn’t going away. Just can’t compete on the basis of energy density.
....It kind of gay
No, wait a minute...

No but it would be funner then hell for at the end, Allinol was made from ground up recycled Cars
I just watched Wall-E for the first time last weekend. I was not impressed. My three-year-old even lost interest.

You’ve nailed it!
But it would be a perfect last shot to have "Mater the Tow Truck" come out screaming, crying...
Well Hollywood does make it buck like makers of cheap boozes, porn, and drugs... living off selling a cheap escape from the bitch that day to day reality can be
Having seen the movie, I thought it was good. It isn’t the best film I have seen this year.
Some of you maybe surprised as who is the bad guy is. There is more to the story than what was in the article. I don’t really want to go into detail because it would reveal too much and people will complain.
