Hi again...and WOOHOO! LOL! You haven’t lost your touch! :)

Ft. Bliss...that is in my neck of the woods...or rather desert!
I know you are sooooo ready to be with your family and in your
own country again!

what is there to do in that area?

Ft. Bliss is in El Paso, which is quite a large, bustling city very close to New Mexico. So you have all the things that a big city has...plus it's fairly close (about 3 hours away) from Ruidoso/Cloudcroft in the mountains of New Mexico. It's really beautiful there and a cool contrast to the desert.

It's also a border town to Old Mexico. It used to be great fun going to Juarez, but with the deadly drug wars going on there now, folks are pretty much discouraged from going there, which is a real shame.

LOTS of wonderful Mexican food to be had! Yum!
