She may be five foot and weigh 125lbs, but that didn't stop one mother chasing down three burly brothers, suspected of stealing from a Walmart store.
The aptly named Monique Lawless, 42, from Alvin, Texas, ended up with a scratched face, broken lip and scrapes to her legs, after she launched herself onto the alleged thieves' car in an attempt to stop them.
The young men drove off with Ms Lawless clinging onto the side door, but were later arrested at another Walmart nearby after an hour-long police chase.
(snip)
Ms Lawless, an engineering safety specialist at Boeing, had been shopping in the superstore on Sunday when she spotted the young men leave with three cases of beer they didn't pay for.

How many more Sylvesters are in their home?
She must not know the rule at Walmart not to confront anyone stealing anything. The employees are told that in orientation.
Just wait until she gets sued for damaging the getaway car.
Walmart will fire her in 5...4...3...2...
“Ms Lawless, an engineering safety specialist at Boeing...”
“You’re fired”
“I don’t work here”
“We’re Walmart, you’re fired anyway.”
Wouldn’t she have to be employed by Walmart before they could fire her?

“Whitey gettin’ fed up”???
I can totally understand her. When you see this kind of thing happening on a regular basis and nothing is done about it... you do it yourself. I’ve seen kids stealing racks of clothes in a Kohl’s store. I ran after them trying to get a photo of the car with my cell phone. My home has been robbed. I’ve seen men walking out of Kmart with the tags still on the shoes they stole, as they nonchalantly strolled to their car. I’m sick of it too. God bless you lady. May there be more like you.
Hmmmnnnn....
Still, I like her intestinal fortitude!
Yeah, launching yourself at a car seems pretty damn stupid. Not being mean, but maybe she needs to be checked over for her own well-being.

She doesn’t work for Walmart
Lots of things brave people do seem stupid to those who wouldn't. That's why we have threads about those who attempt to justify the actions of several "public Safety" officers who stood around for an hour watching a man drown in shallow water.
Is the Thompson family related to George Foreman?
If she did it to save a man's life, I would wholeheartedly congratulate her. She risked injury or death over a few bottles of what, Miller High Life?
I hear their siblings are named Daryl, Daryl, and Daryl.
“Miller High Life? “
More likely Steel Reserve or Hurricane!
***She must not know the rule at Walmart not to confront anyone stealing anything. The employees are told that in orientation.****
We went to a Walmart store several years ago. In the parking lot were several WMT employees with portable radios surrounding some guy who they had “jacked up” against a car and slapping cuffs on him. There were no cops present at that time.
At another store, they confronted a man who had just left the store, accusing him of stealing candy bars.
He claimed innocence, but a few moments later, he threw his stolen candy at them and fled.
