On Fox News this weekend, Jon Stewart famously denied that the New York Times pushes a liberal agenda. Perhaps the man from Comedy Central sees the paper as "moderate." After all, the Times itself apparently doesn't believe there are any liberals on the Supreme Court. In an editorial today, the paper described Ruth Bader-Ginsburg and every other member of her liberal wing of the Court, as "moderate."
The Times' mind-boggling notion of what constitutes a "moderate" came in its editorial blasting the Supreme Court's decision of yesterday throwing out a huge class-action sex-discrimination case against Wal-Mart.
Here's the relevant excerpt from the editorial [emphasis added]:

New York Times calls Bader Ginsburg a “moderate.” What does it take to be a liberal in the eyes of the Times? Ping to Today show list.
She’s either asleep or contemplating why she is incapable of forming a heart shaped opening with her two hands held together.
They both believe what the ultimate moderate, Karl Marx, wrote.
I don’t see why this is wrong or inconsistent.
Didn’t Jon Stewart maintain in his interview with Chris Wallace that the NYT is not liberally biased?
Hey, that settles it for ME. You people are just so hard to please.
As I see it, Stewart feels that leftwing ideology is sensible, rational and correct. If the NYT is Liberal and promotes things that are sensible, rational and correct, then they are not being "activist", they are simply being good journalists. Just telling it like it is.
Now, Fox, you see, embraces a crazy, stupid, irrational and hate-filled agenda. I mean, that's obvious, right? So, when Fox pushes that sort of ideology, they are being "activist" because they are trying to push ideas which normal people know to be incorrect. Right?
In Stewart's view of the world, this is just very obvious.
For the Times NAMBLA, Pink Code and the ACP are liberal.
“Oh dear...have I wet myself?”
A moderate ACLU Marxist.
Moderate: somebody who doesn’t wave Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book.
That’s like my lib coworker calling Obama a “centrist”. I told him, “Man, if he’s a centrist, I’d sure hate to see what you’d call a liberal”.
“They both believe what the ultimate moderate, Karl Marx, wrote.”

You beat me to it.
I was about to say that the New York Slimes would call Karl Marx a moderate.
The Slimes probably thinks Stalin was a moderate.
As I recently observed to a hardcore Leftist: _everyone_ considers themselves “moderate” and “centrist”, it’s everybody else who’s left or right from there (or “moderate” if one’s view is shared).
A “Mao Jacket” and a Red Star, apparently...
Neck-snapping pisschill picture.....
Loved her in Laugh-in though.
No probably about it - they continue to resist giving back the Walter Duranty pulitzer - their admiration for Stalin continues to this very day.
Heh, good contextual explanation.
Basically, to crazy people (or, “Insane” as he puts it) crazy things are normal.
To people like him, The NYT, Sotomayor, Kagan and Ginsberg are middle of the road, and Scalia and Thomas are far right-wingers.
He REALLY believes the NYT is middle of the road.
