Bachmanns newly installed political team has had its own battles with message discipline typified by campaign manager Ed Rollins recent comments alleging that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin hasnt been serious over the last few years.
After the incident, Bachmann was very firm with Rollins, according to an adviser to the congresswoman, telling him this should not happen again and that there should be no more press. Bachmann also demanded that Rollins call the Palin people and apologize. She is definitely not tone deaf, the source added.
Bachmanns move to limit her exposure in the wake of her debate performance is a smart strategy designed to avoid accidentally trampling on the momentum she built with that performance.

Such is Palins conservative cachet among the base, I think, that not even Michele Bachmann would feel completely safe from charges of RINO-ism if she had let Rollinss attack slide. Already Ive seen her dismissed by a few people in the comments here and elsewhere as some sort of stalking horse for Romney whose mission is to clear his way to the nomination by siphoning off votes from Pawlenty and Palin

Then again, I don’t trust a damn thing allahpundit says. He’s in the tank for Romney. No wonder he’d come to Bachmann’s defense.
‘Twould appear, from the vast majority of responses thus far, that Rollins’ grudgingly tardy “apology” is striking something of a false note with those actually paying attention to such matters. ;)
The perfect definition of a cultist, blindly following someone such as you are doing.
Yup. BIG time.
There you go again with another male genitals thing....as I wrote on the earlier thread where were so obsessed, prayer or professional help might help you cleanse your mind.
LOL, I am going to go burn my popcorn now. I don’t need to defend Michele for something she didn’t do.
However....those words did come right of of she who must not be named’s mouth about Michele.
All is fair in love and war, I guess. Get used to it. It will be far more brutal in the future. I will have to heed my own words.
You can’t possibly know how people here would react to a public apology. That’s ridiculously arrogant. My response would have been, “it’s about time, good for her”.
Saying someone doesn’t have executive experience is hardly the same as insulting their character and intelligence. Surely even you can realize that. One is personal, the other is simply a statement of fact (if it’s not Bachmann is certainly capable of correcting it). Discussing someone’s qualifications is a normal part of campaigning. Personal attacks on someone who hasn’t (and may not) enter the race isn’t. Especially when you consider Palin campaigned hard for Bachmann.
The insult was public so the apology should be too.

I will have to heed my own words.
Why? You never have in the past......
This is election time. All bets are off.
It was a catty remark and you give her a pass.
You know, it would have been fine to say that if Palin was only considered a pundit on FOX, but if she wants to be a candidate, it would be unfair.
Which tells me that Palin may not be running.
Don't confuse the issue, she'll have to try to think critically rather than emotionally now.......
What about those of us who honestly thought Michele Bachmann was great, were somewhat dismayed when she erred and hired Rollins, then became entirely flabergasted that she allowed him to go out multiple times trashing Palin and yet remained stone silent, for days, without firing Rollins, or even giving him a reprimand.
Perhaps you’re feeling put out because Michele Bachmann is not Sarah Palin, but I’m getting more and more disgusted seeing a good person corrupted by listening to party elites and hacks. Everything and everyone they come in contact with, they ruin.
What frontrunner? She has been on Romney all the time lately. That was one night. I am not worried about Michele. She is a conservative dynamo and a fighter.
Yeah, she messes up, they all do. But...I think she is quite okay.
I didn’t see anyone else do it either, well maybe from the sidelines. Ann Coulter may have said something LOL
But Rollins may be right. Palin still has not shown she is serious.
Before she can run against 0bama she has to separate herself from the rest of the herd. A great way to do that is to compare RomneyCare to 0bamaCare. To think she’s not running against the other GOP contenders is simply naive.
Cindie
LOL. You mean her critique of him not signing the pledge?
That won't hurt him at all with the RINO's who will vote for him, so it's safe for her to do that one.
Romney Care, she can't do that cause it would make him look bad with even his voter base (or maybe her bankrollers might be unhappy too))
You gonna defend her siding with the ethanol issue (*cough cough* pandering to the Iowans) too?
LLS
Sounds like an appeasement move lacking sincerity to me.
Who did Palin hire as her campaign manager? Do you have any idea?
I don’t like McCain, Palin helped him get re-elected. In fact, getting him re-elected is already turning out to be a nightmare. Pay any attention to that? Talk about a elitist hack, he is your man. Did you like Palin taking advice from Randy Scheneumann or her hiring of Bob Dole’s guy? I didn’t like that.
These guys are few and far between. Their job is not to be sweethearts, but to get a person elected. I didn’t hear Rollins trash Palin for days. Perhaps you have links to all the days he trashed her.
What was catty? Please explain. I explained to you why I found fault with Bachmann’s representative personally insulted Palin. I’d like to know why it’s catty to ANSWER A DIRECT QUESTION. Palin does have more executive experience beginning with her being part of the city counsel, then mayor, then oil commission, then governor. For you to constantly mention ONLY her time as governor is disingenuous and it makes all your arguments suspect because at best it shows a lack of knowledge despite repeated attempts to teach you. At worst it’s a tacit admission that you’re deliberately omitting the truth of your experience.
