Rep. Kings amendment failed heres the roll call vote. Every Democrat voted against it but it lost because 78 Republicans also went against stopping over a billion dollars in money being paid out for fraud. Two votes jumped out at me.
Tea Party favorite Allen West (R-FL) voted with the Congressional Black Caucus to keep Pigford funding flowing to fraudsters.
But worse, Darrell Issa (R-CA), who would be the one to get investigations going.

Yup, I think of him the same way. That’s why I know there’s a lot more to this. No way he just throws all the good will he’s built up out the door on a whim. There’s more that we haven’t seen. Remember, this is a man who WILLINGLY gave up his entire career rather than ‘go along’ with the government BS. NO WAY he does it now.
Yes, this is very confusing.
Why would so many Repubs vote the wrong way? It does not make sense.
(A lot of stuff doesn’t lately...)
There are very few black Americans who are Americans first and blacks second.
I agree. I'm convinced that's why we still have the abomination of abortion with us after 38 years. We could have outlawed it during any Congress from 2001-2007.
Hopefully there will be some valid reason for this vote. Racial identity politics are evil.
Pigford Settlement would have paid off black farmers to the tune of $1.25 billion. This was good of West to oppose it. The Pigford Settlement was an Obama administration idea.
It’s only confusing if you don’t know what the hell the Pigford Settlement is. This is nothing more than reparations for black farmers only.
The go along to get along atmosphere is evil. Principles and the courage to stand up for them are the only things I care about in any elected person.
If they don’t hold dear Constitutional principles and have the courage to stand up for them, they’re useless as teats on a boar.
And unfortunately that seems to be about 98% of them.
Actually more worse than merely useless.
There are no perfect conservatives, but never the less, I shall give benefit of the doubt until there is an explanation.......Goodwill does not get thrown away so easily.
I know what the Pigford settlement is. But it seems West voted to keep it going.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
I meant this would have been good of West to oppose it, but he didn’t. I”m sure there was some underlying reason why he voted for it.
He DIDN’T oppose it! He let it go through! Did you even read the headline?
Agreed. I am not writing Col. West off. I am merely stating the obvious which is that the most racist, tribalistic Americans are black Americans.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

Geez. are there any dependable, honorable pols in Washintgon :(
He might not have voted FOR the Pigford Settlement but for an amendment attached to it. The status of the bill shows that the whole House voted on the bill and it’s considered unfinished business. Which means that it’s not passed.
I corrected myself in post 32
Yeah, you got it right on your third try.
