Larry Craig said he was resigning too, but he didn’t. He finished his term. If Weiner doesn’t follow through he’ll be hounded until he goes. He’s stupid, but probably not that stupid.

Does anyone actually think he will get counselling or “rehab”? I suspect he’s already lining up his next gig, and will hire a PR outfit, not a shrink. Everything he’s done has been aimed at preserving his political career and there’s no way he thinks it’s over now.

Why does it need 2b the end of him? After all, after Spitzer’s ho scandal he was gone for what, 6 months..? He was the top law enforcement officer in NY state —he was in charge of BUSTING the people he turned out to privately like and was paying.
In Spitzer’s case his political recovery was not really even forgiveness —a lot of the public have simply thrown up their arms and don’t care any longer.
It’s resignation —same thing with the debt. People hear “trillion” and no longer think about it.
