It might be the ‘Land of the Free’, but some states certainly aren’t living up to the words of America’s national anthem. New York, New Jersey and California are the least free in the U.S., based on an index of public policies affecting your individual freedoms.

I find it highly ironic that the color used to illustarte less freedom is deep blue.

Unrestrained Democrat Regimes = Tyranny

Not a surprise.

They forgot to look at Illinois. If IL is not #1 or #2, it certainly is #3.

Because of Chicago this state has to be the most corrupt in the nation.

Check the map in the article. Illinois is in the worst category.

I find it highly ironic that an article like this is published by a newspaper in the United Kingdom. Are the papers in the United States that drunk with the Wesley Mouch Kool-Aid?

Our foolish courts keep thinking they are protecting freedom by making it harder for police to arrest criminals, while regulation and taxation strangles and starves law abiding citizens and promulgates corruption. Freedom is only guaranteed to crack dealers and free spesech is only for pornographers-just try to own property, earn a decent living or run a business and you’re villified and screwed.

Funny thing looking at the map, I would expect Virginia be a to less free considering the onerous taxes, vehicle regulations such as safety inspection, ban on radar detectors and strict rules on vehicle window tinting. Their tint law even applies to vehicles from other states when traveling on VA highways !
