I'm going to sit back and let our readers run with this one. On his MSNBC show tonight, Cenk Uygur said that "the Republican vision of Jesus" is "to tell the poor and needy to pound sand."
Uygur offered his twisted theological take in commenting on a GOP proposal to trim allocations to a certain welfare program.

huh? Who are these people talking about? They have this boogie man in there heads. Senile these folks are. geez.
Who is this tool? What dead-end job did this schmuck have before being a TV freakshow?
Democrat vision of Jesus: Everybody should be poor and needy and pound sand except their rulers.
wait, these libs are the same people who promote abortions and ask students to trade in their bibles for porn.
Cenk Uygur sounds like some kind of rectal ulceration.
Just sayin.
We don’t believe in demanding someone else do our responsibility to take care of our neighbor for us. Nor do we believe in telling someone else to steal our neighbors money to feed another neighbor.
It is our responsibility to do it ourselves, not to have liberal apathy and demand the government do it for us via theft and redistribution.
Liberalism is the politics of apathy masked in the rhetoric of caring.
Conservative/Christian view - “You shall have no other gods before me...” including the Federal government.
Jesus commands individuals to love and to practice charity, NOT to pass that responsibility off to a power hungry group which is trying to become an idol. The ONE!
A Muslim Turk is lecturing Christians about the message of Christ?
When Hagia Sophia in Instanbul is once again consecrated and dedicated as a Christian church, then and only then I will listen to a Turk!
Would appreciate people pinging this item to Christian and other appropriate ping lists.
There’s no discussing the issue rationally with a liberal blatherer like him.
I would just point out that we can’t look to The Bible or Jesus’ teachings and find that Jesus was in favor of Obamacare or food stamps or school lunch programs.
I would also point out that, in times of tragedy, such as Hurricane Katrina, which the liberals love to bash Bush over, volunteer members of churches arrive to deliver aid and comfort to the victims. Various Christian charities also get involved to help the victims as part of their Christian mission.
But this dude doesn’t care about any of that. The only proper way to deliver any aid to people is through officially sanctioned government programs. And if aid is not delivered in that manner, nothing else matters. He can’t recognize all the good that Christian charities do, because then he can’t bash Christians for not doing enough.
They just don’t understand that Christianity is the ultimate free choice.
Freedom to do as we please, and freedom to face the ultimate consequence if we choose wrong.
Rush: “What the hell is a ‘Cenk Uygur’?”.
This is absolutely the worst thing I’ve seen all day! This Turkish-American who was raised as a Sunni Muslim shows such a lack of respect for Christians with this statement! Make that same statement about Mohammed, though, and watch the heads literally roll!
+1
he does have a point....liberals and demoKrats love the poor....they love them so much they keep them poor...they would have no voting base if they didn’t...
The guy is an ignorant idiot.
His ilk need to get up off their socialist butts and do as conservatives do:
We give time and money to feed and clothe the poor and needy, instead of expecting the government to do it for us.
It’s called personal responsibility.
If I am not mistaken, Judas flipped when Jesus was getting annointed with oil. He remarked that the money could go to the poor (of course he intended to steal it -- sound a little like today's Democrats?). Let's tune in:
Then Mary took three quarters of a pound of perfumed oil made of pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus. She then wiped his feet dry with her hair. (Now the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfumed oil.) 4 But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (the one who was going to betray him) said, 5 Why wasnt this perfumed oil sold for three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor? 6 (Now Judas said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money box he used to take what was put into it.) 7 So Jesus said, Leave her alone. She has kept it for the day of my burial. 8 For you always have the poor with you, but you dont always have me (John 12:1-7).
So even Jesus got weary of the incessant demands of old-time Democrats. He remarked that there will ALWAYS be poor, presumably with their hand out.
That is JESUSes take on the poor, Islamic.
Liberals believe generosity begins at the barrel of a gun.
