There's nothing really bad to say about Rep. Allen West going diving off the coast of Deerfield Beach with a bunch of military veterans -- except for the fact that he violated U.S. federal law in the process and provided a pictorial of himself doing so.
During his diving session Sunday, Lt. Col. West was photographed holding an American flag underwater, on top of an artificial reef -- which would be a violation of the United States Code.
Let us flip to Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8, Subsection B of the United States Code:
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
That's from Chapter 1 of the United States Code, also known as the United States Flag Code.
Judging from the existence of pictures of West holding a flag under water, that would seem to qualify as a violation of code.
The Flag Code constitutes federal law, although there is no penalty for breaking this law.
We'll let you off with a warning, West.

He was just conquering the ocean in the name of the United States in the same manner that Neil Armstrong placed America’s claim on the Moon.
Oh the horror of it.
Cue Joe Biden then. At the Greek columns fiasco in CO, Biden had dropped the small American flag and had his foot on it.

Also cue the adoring Obama inauguration dems, where they threw their flags on the ground then walked on them. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3433/3213480303_97fba515e8.jpg
Also cue Obama’s best bud, domestic terrorist Bill Ayers standing on a large American flag on the ground.

Oh well lets form a hangin party. This cannot be tolerated.
No Controlling Legal Authority.....
“We’ll let you off with a warning, West.”
That’s Lieutenant Colonel West to you, you worthless pencilneck geek! You couldn’t issue a warning to a wombat and you couldn’t lead a f@rt out of a phone booth! And you are not even worthy to shine Lt. Col. West’s uniform shoes.
It’s OK to burn a flag but not to get it wet, as stated earlier. That’s typical liberal arrigance and illogic.
Geez....!
Arrogance, not `arrigance’.
OMG........
Unreal! Obama is usurping and raping this country while aiding and abetting terrorists and reporters report this?
Thank you. That was the first image that came to mind.
LMAO! The Liberals are so desperate. This is absolute pathetic attempt.
What’s a “phone booth?” Is that one of those quaint roadside shrines? ((BTW, great line.))
And you don’t want to ever wash your flag either, since it would have to touch water.
Dry clean only!
And yet, these same ninnies defend when someone burns and defecates on the flag, flies it below the Mexican Flag or desecrates it any manner they claim is free expression.
Geez, my age is showing. Last mention I heard of phone booths is when they were disabled for incoming calls. The expression is an old Army way of questioning the leadership qualities of others, often of one’s superior.
Tonight I’ll put some LPs on the turntable for our dinner music.

The Onion has an extremely crude article:
Disgusted Supreme Court Can’t Believe It Has To Rule Having Sex With American Flag Protected Under First Amendment

Now, the left wing loons are concerned about the sanctity of the flag, rather than just spitting on it and burning it!!!! I wish these loons would go to LTCOL West’s face and say this. I believe he would remove their spleen through their throats. Personally, I’d like that, because I’ve never seen a spleen.
“If the flag can’t get wet, are you supposed to bring it in every time it rains ?????”
Yes.
(c) Inclement weather
The flag should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement, except when an all weather flag is displayed.
I don't think I've ever seen this done by anyone.
Then West probably had an all weather flag - lol
