Perhaps Sarah won ...

Newt seemed to recognize that his campaign is kaput, and a few of his answers blasting the media's attempts to get a yes/no answer when it is not that simple, reflected that.

Perhaps too late, the GOP is learning that we cannot play by the leftist media's rules (thank you SP!).

“but I would crawl across broken glass to vote for him over Obama (who is not a good man). “

You’ll just wind up cut up with Obama still as POTUS ...

RINOmney would run as a transgendered, Hispanic Lilliputian, if it would get him elected President...

I'd say it was absolutely a success.

It revealed the horror of the Obama administration across the board and everyone on the panel showed him/herself to be clearly more qualified than the posseur now in the Oval Office.

Obama got blasted on Obamacare, the economy, foreign policy, immigration, everything.

And even though CNN has a puny audience, word will get out via other sources.

Seems like there was a pow-pow between them to try their best to lay off Obama and keep the target on Obama.

I mean to lay off each other and keep the target on Obama. Ugh.

Go play in the baby pool with Michelle. Past that both of you are in over your head.

At least Bachmann has the guts to jump in.

Bachmann jumped in today. So apparently your deadline for "having guts" was today, June 13th, the day your candidate jumped it.

LOL.

Well I was flipping by MSNBC (for a good laugh) and they said that Bachmann won the debate. I thought she did well. Romney did what he had to do but other than Pawlenty no one really took Romney on and Pawlenty pretty much took a pass other than quoting Obama. Perhaps the closer we get to the fall whoever emerges as the Romney alternative will take on Romney more directly. I have to confess I flipped over the the hockey game whenever Paul was speaking so I didn’t see much of him. Santorum was OK and I thought Cain has some good answers for dealing with immigration and the economy.

Well, Michelle didn't do as well as I would have wanted. Perhaps debates like this are not her venue. But then Pawlenty impressed me with his ability to focus rather than play to the audience. He was among friends so he honed in on the issues and told me alot about what he will do when president. He has the best governing experience of any of the ones we heard tonight. Herman has the best managerial experiences, and that showed. Mitt has the greatest lust for the office, but he is too duplicitous and lied through his polished teeth when claiming he has always been pro-life. He still isn't pro-life, he's pro-mitt-don’t-get-caught on the wrong side of any issue you can dissemble.

You don’t think Sarah’s MSM bus tour was self adoration? LOL At least Bachmann has the guts to jump in.

If it was *self* adoration, what was the press doing there?

At least Palin knows how to manipulate the media.

Cheers!

I’m getting sick to my stomach watching so many on this thread beating up each other’s candidate.

You'll ever last the election cycle if that's the case. It goes with the territory..and this is just the first debate.

You can be in the tank for Palin but at least be honest. Who stumbled and who was shallow? Give examples.

Romney stumbled with his "...turn it over to the Taliban army."

King was shallow.

Cheers!

“Michele announcing at the debate was a masterstroke’

No, it wasn’t. It was ridiculous. “Right here on CNN...”? Oh, gag me. Especially after she “promised” to announce in her “home, sweet home,” Iowa. What WAS that? Some advisor’s stunt to try and upstage Sarah Palin. Not good.

“She can’t repeal it.
Unless congress repeals it or it is declared unconstitutional, she, as president, will be duty bound to enforce it. “

Technically right, but substantively wrong.
ObamaCare = 1000s of pages of rules and requires funding and more laws to continue. A President who declares the intention to defund it, gets Congress to repeal its provisions, and dismantles it administratively by getting HHS to back off, is the President we need in the White House in 2013. There is a lot the President can do to gut it.

ObamaCare MUST be repealed and it matters who is in the White House.

“If they keep pushing these primaries up any earlier, then we'll be starting the 2016 election before the 2012 votes have been counted.”

It's kind of like Wal Mart putting out Christmas decorations in September. “Yes mam... our Halloween masks are on your left... just past the Christmas Tree display”.

CNN opining that Mrs Bachmann’s perfectly scripted all be it shallow performance tonight would probably keep Mrs.
Palin out. No they don't have an agenda.

‘He’s a smart guy who understands individual rights and limited government but he’s a space cadet when it comes to jihadists. “

As is typical on FR most of us like Libertarians fine on fiscal issues, and if they are pro-life so much the better. However on other social issues and on foreign policy they are not conservative, and that is where we part company.

Mrs. Bachmann’s opening statement was a pandering pile of steaming crap. Then it was downhill after that.
