And that is the story of Newt. Brilliant 80% of the time and the rest of the time you just want to hide and pretend you don’t know him.

“These debates are a waste of time. The MSM looking for a gotcha moment for tomorrow’s news.”

I think they are very valuable for the party faithful

(pretty much us)

to compare candidates side-by-side.

You can be in the tank for Palin but at least be honest. Who stumbled and who was shallow? Give examples.

I hate it, I really do.... but I am one to face the truth/facts even if I want to or not.... and I like Palin, but I know she’s not perfect either... and I do have one major issue with her too....which I don’t have all the info on....but, there won’t be a candidate I agree w/100% ....just gotta pick the closest to my values & one that shows ability to lead.

Yeah good point. It will be interesting to see the Michelle Bachmann of tonight vs. the Michelle Bachmann 10 or 15 debates up the road. Probably two different people.

Thanks for the thread newsjunkey, and special thanks for commenting regularly.

Many post live threads then go do something else, not you!

I read a lot of posts negative towards Sarah Palin because she didn't jump in (too) early like so many others.

Everyone there tonite needed the exposure, Palin didn't.

And she did not need to be there to "sharpen her skills."

She gets questioned daily by the MSM with leading and trick questions to try to get her to say something that they can stick on the wall and throw darts at for as long as they can get the masses to pay attention.

She has handled them quite well.

She will pick just the right time to jump in, she has that luxury.

I noticed afterwards that Bachmann quickly got down on the floor and was smoozing with the people in the audience, smart move.

She of course will burn out soon after Palin gets in, because many of her supporters will move to the Palin camp.

Of course Rollins working with her campaign is a damper on her chances.

Rollins is an old time beltway insider, staunchly GOP all the way.

He is working for her for the opportunity to diss Palin (the biggest fear of the GOP machine) and of course derail her effectiveness in her campaign.

All in all, imo this debate didn't mean much, but did give exposure to all the participants, which they needed big time.

Newt's statements about amnesty were finger-in-the wind inspired.

He wouldn't do the right thing about it if he were president, as his past actions indicate quite well.

It's either he or Romney for the Grand O(bsolete) Party, the have demonstrated that they want the Tea Party Movement to bend to their wishes and merge with them.

Not going to happen, it has been put to them over and over again that they must absorb the TPM ideals with no caveats or they will NOT have it's support.

How did you like the debate Chuck?

The local Tea Party rented a hall and opened it to the public. I left shortly after the second commercial break. I counted 80 people right before I left.

Mith continues to piss me off.

I thought Cain did real well.

Michele announcing at the debate was a masterstroke. She remains my fav.

There was a straw poll after the debate. But I was gone by then.

I think CNN did a very credible job.

I’m a faithful American and I don’t think these debates do much good. They ARE manufactured for a gotcha moment and I have to be honest, I’m getting sick to my stomach watching so many on this thread beating up each other’s candidate.

We SHOULD be singularly focused. And that focus needs to be on defeating Obama AND gaining seats in Congress.

Okay that’s more than singuarly, but you get my drift.

CBB tipped their hand. Said if you didn't know about her prior bomb throwing you would have thought her to be a reasonable candidate. Then they proceed to pump her up. Poor Michelle is getting set up but is too stupid to know it.

I was not aware that Sarah Palin was at this debate tonight. Evidently, somewhere in YOUR head, she was. Now what does that tell you?

Well patience FRiends... not yet... not yet... LLS

If they keep pushing these primaries up any earlier, then we'll be starting the 2016 election before the 2012 votes have been counted.

By not showing up Palin obviously won this debate hands down.

She needs to wait until the last minute. And only Palin knows when that will be.

I would crawl across broken glass to vote for him (Romney) over Obama.

.... Are you nuts!......That's where you and I will majorly part company. I will not ever, never vote for the air-head. You will never know which way he's going to go as his people fog his brain and the democrats whisper sweet nothings to his ears..... You might just as well vote democrat if you vote for Romney!!!!

I'd rather see Obama opposed as is now.. and we do know who he is and what he stands for....Romney will more than muddy the waters....and take a bath in it while he does so thinking he'll come out squeaky clean.

I'll be voting third party or sit my fanny home and let the chips fall where they may if Romney gets in...you can kiss the USA goodbye either way then.
