News site Politico.com admitted Friday that it made an "error" in attributing a nasty quote about Rep. Michele Bachmann to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
The quote came in an opinion piece Thursday by former Virginia Democratic Party chief Paul Goldman and George Mason University professor Mark J. Rozell. The piece speculated on whether Bachmann's possible presidential run might compel Palin to get in the race, and argued that her recent bus tour sent a message to Bachmann, R-Minn. -- a message they attributed directly to Palin.

Error? Is that the new word for ‘lie’?
The don’t get any slimier than Goldman.
ummmm....
Its that, what they (Liberals/Marxist/Communist) do...
Projection...calling others what you, yourself are...
"mirroring".
The media really is terrified of Palin.
They have no idea how their behavior looks to rational people.
“Palin’s bus tour had some of the hallmarks of a primal scream”
Well, okey-dokey:
DOWN!!!!! WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COMMUNISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;)
The MSM comes up with all sorts of ‘misquotes’ by Sarah that are totally wrong but they keep on doing it. The MSM is pure evil.
This is good. Now, every time Politico does a hit piece on a conservative we can bring this out and rub their face in it. They sacrificed what little creditability they had for this sophomoric and pathetic tale.
Nah, forget that. That's a believable quote from Obama.
I suspect there will be a lot of "errors" made the next 18 months if 'Cuda runs or not.
Error? Is that the new word for "lie"?
I'd hate to let Politico off the hook even part-way, but it looks as if an officious copy editor did this. What the authors were trying to achieve was a little gesture at mind-reading, a nod to the reader as they characterize the bus tour as a "scream" from Sarah, which they then try to put into words. There's an implied "as if to say . . ."
But they were too arty by half, and the whole thing went over the unfortunate copy editor's head. She (most of them are "she") thought it was a real quote, and added "she said" out of a misplaced enthusiasm for clarity. Dumb mistake by people who think Sarah talks the way they do. That's my guess. It would be a bummer if they got sued over it (heh).
Like the one from SNL where the Sarah actress said she could see Russia from her house and the media idiots ran with it as a true statement from Sarah. I just wish ....
I’m not surprised they made up the quote.
I’ll be surprised if they retract it.

This is what applying for a job in the Obama administration entails.
As if there were ever any doubt about their leftward bias.
