A few hours ago, I started getting emails from bloggers and viewers of ON THE RECORD at 10pm about the New York Times and the Washington Post hiring help to go through Governor Sarah Palins emails. Apparently neither news organization has the resources or the drive to do the labor intensive heavy lifting of sorting through the Palin emails themselves so they are looking for help. My guess is that if this were the Pentagon papers, neither news organization would be outsourcing to others which might give you a bit of a hint as to whether they think themselves this is serious journalism or not.
At first I just read the emails from viewers and went on with my other work for tonights news show but, as time marched on, the emails got more passionate. I was asked, for instance, whether the New York Times and the Washington Post were doing good journalism or on some non journalism mission (an agenda?) I was asked if the Post and the Times scoured as carefully the 2800 page health care reform bill (which is very important) for redundancy, wasted money, or even to see if it was written clearly so we could all understand it? It was also pointed out to me that AP assigned a team of fact checkers to go through Palins book and I was asked if the AP had done that for the health care bill or even other politicians books? I dont know.
Of course Governor Palin was a public servant (Governor), so she, as a public servant, should be subjected to scrutiny and to the same rules and vigorous scrutiny as other politicians. We need to know about our public servants and all of them. That includes Governor Palin. No one

What do you think of the NYT and Wash Post hiring help to go through Palin emails?
3.71% good journalism
96.29% media colonoscopy
FFS, Greta! Do a little research and find out the answers to these questions.
The NYTimes and WaPost aren't "hiring" help, they're calling in a political lynch mob. Got bias?
Who are they hiring? The piece I saw was for a request for free volunteer opposition research. That is, at the very least, lazy, unprofessional journalism.
That's an oxymoron. You can't put the words "good" with "journalism". As Mark Twain wrote "If you don't read the newspaper you're uninformed; if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed.
To bad Greta didn’t ask the question as to why the Washington Post and the New York Times has never pressed Obama for any of his “background” information.
Frankly, I’d like to see all of his emails from when he was an IL state senator. I’d like to know how he could never for an issue but always voted ‘present’ unless it was something innocuous.
She knows the answer, this is a rhetorical poll.
When is the last time anyone has seen either of these newspapers done any “good journalism”?

For a "dunce" with "no chance" of winning the nomination or defeating DUh-bama, the media seem to awfully concerned with manufacturing a scandal and digging up dirt on Palin.

Can you say PANIC!????
Here is something else that Sarah just posted
http://www.sarahpac.com/posts/setting-the-record-straight-about-false-quotes-attributed-to-governor-palin
its from a idiotic Pollitico story posted today with a BS quote supposedly from Sarah Palin which is of course 100 percent false..what else is knew with the media..I believe absolutely NOTHING that comes out of their mouths anymore..Hannity was right when he said journalism died in 2008 except the media has been dead longer then that, just people did not pay much attention to how far gone they had gone
I believe they are trolling for unsubstantiated rumors which they can't spread all over the media and then later offer a retraction after the damage has been done.

Rush is going to have an absolute field day with this tomorrow.
It will be one for the record books.
Setting the Record Straight: About False Quotes Attributed to Governor Palin
Posted on June 10, 2011
An absurd opinion piece in Politico includes a quote attributed to Governor Palin that is a total fabrication and yet is deliberately written to appear as if it is a legitimate direct quote. By any standard this is unacceptable even for an opinion piece. This puts us in mind of a real quote of something Governor Palin actually did once say to the media: Quit making stuff up.
Does it include Hollis French, the Alaska State Senator and "Troopergate" who promised to deliver Palin's head on a silver platter in the fall 2008 while chairing the investigation (and appearing at Obama campaign events)?
No. That’s not a colonoscope.
Petrified that she might run?
They WANT her to run!
Could you imagine what the MSM would be demanding if it were Palin?
Oh wait, we don't have to imagine anymore just look at how they are going crazy about a bunch of emails.
SUCKERS!
In an update, the WaPo has had to do a semi crawl back from their original solicitation. They now say they will print selected emails and let viewers comment on them.
They also said the very strong reaction by online comments at the article had made them rethink what they had done.
I posted my comment, then read through several hundred of others. I found very, very, few that were supportive of WaPo, 99.9% were very, very, negative (and I mean negative+) as to what WaPo was doing.
The WaPo created their own maelstrom. and then found themselves sucked down into the resulting whirlpool.
The real problem is none of those running appear to have come to help her. Leno has attacking her for a week. His attack is as stupid as the people on the sidewalk interviews.
