"Publicly humiliated Huma Abedin won't ditch her lecherous husband, and is actually working overtime to help salvage his gravely wounded political career, a close friend told The Post.
She even hunkered down with disgraced Rep. Anthony Weiner in a New York hotel Monday night -- an incredible show of support just hours after a blubbering Weiner confessed to three years of sleazy online flings.
"She loves her husband very much. She is committed to her husband and her marriage," the close friend said.
She's adamant that her husband does not resign, and is optimistic that he can continue his career as an elected official.
"They are still talking all the time about what to do [to survive the scandal]," the source said, adding that they plotted his political comeback while at the hotel...
...Abedin didn't show up because of her "very private" nature, the friend said.
"She has seen spouses stand there before -- like Silda Spitzer -- and look a lot less happy," said the source, adding that Abedin "loathes the public eye."
But she did watch the press conference unfold on TV while in New York City, the source said.

It’s amazing what some women will put up with to have a husband in office in DC. They sure love that party circuit.
She loves the political power that Wiener contributes to the cause. And no, I’m not sorry to say it. Any ‘legitimate’ married couple would be expending max effort in salvaging the relationship, not giving a whit about what went on outside in the world. And when I say ‘legitimate’ I mean a married couple that actually had a marriage based on love and mutual respect, not politics.
