'Flash mobs' and summer violence await McCarthy and Chicago police

Twelve homicides have occurred over the last five days and the summer crime season is still in its infancy. With a majority of schools letting out by June 17, the city can expect another wave of violence in which children are the unfortunate victims and perpetrators. Lamentably, it is a cycle that the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and residents must deal with each year, even if the mayhem has abated.
According to recent statistics, violent crime is down for the 29th consecutive month. However, in the current climate there is an impression that a war has erupted, and acting Superintendent Garry McCarthy (whose confirmation vote it today) must now handle the heightened violence that has afflicted downtown. Yet, why are the robberies and assaults in the city center superseding the other violent and fatal transgressions that are occurring across the city?

We will see a Bernie Goetz before too long.
And the authorities will come down like a ton of bricks on the man who stood up to the flash mob.
And if we have any sense at all, we will form our own flash mob, fully armed, and march on city hall and demand that the man be freed and the charges dropped.

Do that, and the MSM will run the visuals from now till Kingdom Come, with the caption "racist right-wingers mob to spring murderer of black honor student."
Wouldn't matter if Herman Cain or Allen West led the charge. Same result.

Does this mean anything? Not what it seems! ;-)

As long as violence and mayhem caused by the gangs was confined to the South Side and the West Side, most ordinary citizens didn’t think too much about it.
But now people who work in the Loop or Near North/Gold Coast areas have to be concerned about the gangs coming up out of the South Side and the West Side and causing mayhem where they live and work.
The gangs never used to be bold enough to go to the Loop or Gold Coast areas and provoke trouble. Now they are that bold, and it does seem like a declaration of war on the good decent people of Chicago.

perfect timing for AT&T’s flash mob advert, lol, i can’t believe AT@T is dumb enough to run that TV Ad.

Their boldness is due to their knowledge that they can get away with pretty much anything these days. Gangs used to be afraid they’d be beaten to bloody pulps (at the very minimum) by cops if they pulled that crap anywhere near a decent neighborhood.

If mass riots occur this summer it will be interesting to see if the authorities can handle it. During the last riot in Los Angeles the police could not handle it and announced they were unable to guarantee safety-(we were on our own). The national guard was brought in and things calmed down. However, during the time between the police announcement and the arrival of the guard the Korean merchants in Los Angeles did quite well in defending themselves and their businesses.
If they break loose I would imagine that the blacks will seek to sack malls and shopping centers

Once upon a time, a significant number of intended victims would have pulled revolvers and emptied them into the “flash mob” discouraging any future repetitions.
And police and citizens would have applauded.
