Rollins Wants Palin Allies for Bachmann (also wants Sarah as ally!)
CNN ^ | Wednesday, June 8, 2011 | Paul Steinhauser and Gabriella Schwarz

Veteran Republican campaign strategist Ed Rollins, who signed on to steer Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's looming presidential bid, said his recent criticism of Sarah Palin is not part of an electoral strategy.

SNIP

But the former CNN contributor said he needs to adjust from "being a political analyst back to being a strategist."

"I don't think Palin runs and if she does we will deal with it. There obviously is a trend in the media to link them," Rollins told CNN. "In the long run we want Palin and her people as our allies."

In an interview with POLITICO, Rollins said the Bachmann campaign will be "so much more substantive."

"People are going to say, 'I gotta make a choice and go with the intelligent woman who's every bit as attractive,'" Rollins said.

Please, don’t “be through” with Michele. Remember, Sarah stated the field will change....the more Conservatives we have fighting it out in the Primary, the better the candidate will be.

Sarah believes strongly in competition because that is how you get the best one left standing.

I would encourage ALL strong Conservatives fight in the primary (it would probably be the most polite one in history).

What we need to change is the idiot libs asking the questions. These a$$holes will try to pit each Conservative against each other.

Could you imagine Rush, Mark and Sean asking the questions in the primary?

If for some reason Sarah doesn't jump in, she will support Rick Perry when he does.

Hide & Watch! :)

Sounds like he is campaigning for Palin. It sure as hell doesn’t describe Bachmann.

Hey Eddie, try this. How about people who are more concerned with things other than looks? Let’s try someone with 17 years of elected executive experience with a record second to none, vs someone with three terms as a congresswoman with no notable accomplishments. Tell me who would most people choose?

Sorry - Rep. Bachmann has exhibited *very poor judgment in selecting Rollins.* He is a dim-witted dinosaur and a proven loser. He has the Midas touch in reverse: Everything he touches turns to dung.

I love sarah, but Bachmann is more battle ready than Sarah is.

I talk to a lt of people and Bachmann gets a lot more cred than Palin does. Bachmann is hardcore and never hides, goes into the fire and always fights it out.

“Trash Palin. Brush it off. Threaten her not to run (”we’ll deal with that”). Then seek her support. He is a nasty POS.”

Nasty, primitive and delusional. The mental processes of these people has gone from questionable to stark, raving mad.

This underscores, if the past 22 years failed to leave an impression, just how utterly and completely the GOP suits do not get us, never will get us, and are absolutely and completely incapable of getting us.

The problem is that Rollins and Bachmann have sucked Palin into this tawdry uproar....which Palin had nothing to do with.

Meanwhile, the male GOP candidates sit back, profiting from the maelstrom, because Palin and Bachmann both appear to be in a "typical female cat fight" with each other....even though Palin is not involved at all.

Now the two women candidates look bad....and type cast.....all this emanating from a dumb move in the Bachmann camp embroiling a totally innocent Sarah Palin.

MB did a good job of that herself.

Wowwwww.... Rollins is an idiot. He wants Sarah’s people but he slams her with ‘stupid but pretty’? Maybe he ought to look in the mirror. He’s not pretty or smart. What a flipping fool. If I were Bachmann I’d fire him this second. Going after her political sister is the epitomy of S T U P I D.

Is that you Ed Rollins?

Palin is no one’s sacrificial lamb. Most especially a lightweight like Michelle Bachmann. But nice try.

Bachmann is hardcore and never hides

Which explains why she sent her attack goon out to say things she didn't have the guts to.

Yeah, I'm really with you there. /s

I would encourage ALL strong Conservatives fight in the primary (it would probably be the most polite one in history).

Indeed, it would be if Michele Bachmann hadn't hired Ed Rollins and sent him out to make ad hominem attacks on Sarah Palin on every cable news show that would let him in the door.

Sorry, but I cannot and will not support that. I can't support Bachmann attacking Palin while Romney gets a pass. That's just plain not acceptable. With 'friends' like that, who needs the left?

Michele Bachmann, as of now, has completely lost my support. I never supported her for president, but I certainly wasn't against her and I did support her for her house seat. She might be able to win me back over by doing the right thing with Rollins, but she's raised some questions and none of the answers I can think of look good for her.

If you think Bachman is ‘more battle ready’ than Sarah is, then you are delusional. Bachman doesn’t have much in the way of legislative accomplishment either. She jumped on the Tea Party bandwagon...not the other way around.

'I gotta make a choice and go with the intelligent woman who's every bit as attractive,'" Rollins said.

Rollins is saying that support for either Gov Palin or Rep Bachmann is based on the fact they are both attractive women. So, the only difference to measure between the two is which of them is more intelligent? With this comment, Rollins insults both of them. Bachmann is either naive for hiring this guy, or she's complicit in a stealth campaign to elect Romney. Which is it?

You would imagine that old GOPers would have wised up after the 2010 elections. Imagine their surprise when they find that they have been surrounded by snarling wolves and grizzlies starving for restoration of the republic.

I love them both and will go for both - im just stating my honest opinion. I post on many other sites, talk to a ton of other people and will say Bachmann will sell better than Palin.
