Allies of former prime minister regard darling of Tea Party movement as a frivolous figure unworthy of an audience
Sarah Palin wants to show to the Republican right that she is the true keeper of the Ronald Reagan flame by meeting the late president's closest ally on the world stage.

The LSM spin on that one? "Palin praises heroine - Is she for legalization of drugs?"
You know they'd go there if they could...
Whoever is trying to destroy them, eviscerate them, and undermine their national and historical identity has their eager and fawning admiration.
It shows that they are tolerant and gladly accept their oppressors, because they believe that this displays their lack of Judgment--as, of course, it does, though perhaps not in the way that they mean it.
For the Press your god is a jealous god, and the best way to appease him is to abandon your history and heritage and traditions and freedoms--and of course, your religion, that oppressive engine which claims that certain things are unalterably true and not up for popular vote, and may not be abandoned or compromised for the sake of appeasement of either your enemies or the Press (but I am being redundant), so that you may you leave to your children and theirs a heritage that has been ravaged and laid waste, stripped of any values that your oppressors do not find convenient for your manipulation or which may be used to shame you if you don't stand patiently in line for the gruel doled out to you.
Hard to believe that this is the same England who kept the Monster Hitler at arm's length, took the worst he could hammer them with and kept (for the most part) its spirit strong and its spine straight.
Oh yeah they would!
One, who gives a crap what the British think.
Two,,, I predicted this a few days ago when the story first floated. Now the hated Thatcher will suddenly be held in deep reverence, and Sarah will be unworthy.
If its true England is more of a joke than I realized.
The Guardian is WAAAAAAY to the left of MSNBC...
Sarah should seek an audience with Maggie through proper channels, and ONLY if Maggie herself declines, should Sarah give up on the idea. She should not take the word of some weasel journalist or anonymous “aide”.
The Guardian is the leftist version of The New York Slimes. If Lady Thatcher declines to meet with Sara, it would most likely be due to the failing health of Ms. Thatcher.
Allies?
sounds like clintonista press sycophants.
Thatcher does not see anyone since she has been sick.
her last public appearance was reagan’s funeral?
Baroness Thatcher had to stop making public appearances years ago because of ill health and is seldom at home for guests. A reception hosted by David Cameron in Downing Street to celebrate her 85th birthday had to go ahead without her.
Maggie Thatcher is in extremely bad health...she has dementia...and probably hasn’t a clue who visits her...
I thought they already met.
one could say that is as brash as making a toast during the playing of god save the queen.
From the original article:
"When Ms Palin does arrive in London, she may be thwarted in her ambition to meet the country's only woman former Prime Minister. Baroness Thatcher had to stop making public appearances years ago because of ill health and is seldom at home for guests. A reception hosted by David Cameron in Downing Street to celebrate her 85th birthday had to go ahead without her.
An aide said: "Nowadays, the Lady rarely meets people at all. If a meeting went ahead it would be very much low-key, and would very much depend on how things were on the day. We don't make firm appointments for this sort of meeting."
Palin would not have made the statement had the invitation not been extended.
Otherwise, she would be setting herself up for just this kind of smackdown.
I smell David Cameron and the Tory Central Office, myself.
Best,
Chris
That’s funny, I live here and my law is the English common law and I worship nobody.
Yep.
