(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) says the Republicans’ energy legislation is the same as what the Bush administration offered, and that those failed policies contributed to high gas prices.

“We’ve seen this roadmap before,” Waxman said at a hearing of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Friday. “This is a recycled version of the plan developed by the secretive Bush-Cheney Energy Task Force and pushed through Congress by Republicans while they were in office.”

Waxman said during the eight years Bush was in office, his administration “pushed oil and gas drilling, onshore and offshore” and “expedited permits and weakened environmental protections.”

Hey Wax, it wasn't the Bush-Cheney Plan it was the Cheney Plan...and Americans would be a lot better off today if Bush had pushed the plan in Congress when the GOP had a majority. Its too bad that Dick Cheney had to 'carry the ball' for it by himself.

I guess this vile little man hasn't notice that Obummer is the reason for the high gas prices. This dope is so devoid of rational thought, he automatically defaults to "Bush's Fault" for everything. Good luck selling that to the voters anymore.

We should demand that he walk to work or ride a bike. No more limo rides for these hypocrite. No energy sucking from any congress member or aide or intern. It starts with them since they tell us they are the smartest, brightest ones in the US. Let them suffer first the price of their own non-energy policies. Back to horse and buggy rides back to his district

I like what you say, but getting these stooges out of limos will be near impossible. Especially anyone supporting this Regime. Waxman et al, are smarter than us rubes after all and deserve this nicety for looking after the country so competently and effectively. They are very important don’tcha know.
