Food chain at risk of being poisoned by terrorist groups
Food and drink sold in Britain is under a growing threat from terrorist groups which might try to poison supplies, the Governments security advisers have warned.
By Richard Gray, Science Correspondent
9:44PM BST 04 Jun 2011
Manufacturers and retailers have been told that their sector is vulnerable to attacks by ideologically and politically motivated groups that may seek to cause widespread casualties and disruption by poisoning food supplies.
The warning from the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure [CPNI], which operates as part of the Security Service, comes as experts warned the deadly E.coli outbreak in Germany has highlighted the vulnerability of the food chain and how quickly bacteria can spread.
The highly virulent strain has claimed 18 lives and left more than 1,800 seriously ill, with the true number of cases expected to be far higher.
A senior German doctor last night called for an investigation into the possibility that the bacteria had been spread deliberately.
Klaus-Dieter Zastrow, chief doctor for hygiene at Berlins Vivantes hospital, said: Its quite possible that theres a crazy person out there who thinks 'Ill kill a few people or give 10,000 people diarrhoea. Its a negligent mistake not to investigate in that direction.

Food chain?
The title suggests that islamists would poison the grass which would poison the cows and thus the steaks would be poisoned?

Now aren’t you glad we import all these somalis who hate us to work in food processing. They replaced the illegal mexicans who hate us.

You know what those journo’s do to squeeze words into a shortest possible phrase to make a headline. Frequently, it does not work, as you have seen in this article.:-)

Well if that happens..... I here muslims taste like chicken. Yea... I know... That’s sick...
To: TigerLikesRooster
Well at least they are starting to recognize the danger.
Question is; how long will it be before the monolith of political correctness crumbles and they recognize that the Muslim community is the source of the danger and deal with it.

If Jihadis do this on a large scale and get caught, they will get themselves angry totalitarian European regimes. Ratko Mladic would be an angel compared with them.

One only has to consider the explosion of food borne illnesses and various product recalls in the last half decade or so to surmise that low level food tampering has been going on for some time. Doesn't take much to get a little fecal matter in the mix.

with e coli, the food need not be the means of delivery, and could throw off the investigation for a long time as investigators focus on the obvious and past experience with raw vegetables
deliberate contamination of containers, eating implements, shopping carts or ? could work just as effectively, as e coli can go human-to-human once introduced
Might explain why 70% of the victims of this virulent new pathogen are young and middle-age women, who usually do the shopping and preparing, or why certain female restaurant patrons were infected and others not

I got to thinking that it is curious that this outbreak is only in nations that were part of the colonization period.
Maybe I am paranoid.

Somehow I am picturing a Muslim working at a large grain processing plant putting something subtle like a powder into the mix after it is initially inspected. He could simply put human waste mixed with rotting animal flesh into the ground and create something very nasty in his own backyard to use, no need for a lab. You could sicken or kill lots of people this way. Britain is pretty inclusive and grain processing is often done on a huge corporate scale, not impossible for me to picture. Maybe not having ever worked at a grain processing facility I am missing something obvious as to why this wouldn't work.

Gee, I got a GREAT IDEA! Let's bring in lotsa unassimilatable Third World immigrants, put them on public benefits with nothing to do but nurse resentment and grievances and hatreds and prejudices. I mean WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
