In a new video message released on the internet Friday, American-born al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn calls on Muslims living in America to carry out deadly one-man terrorist acts using fully automatic weapons purchased at gun shows, and to target major institutions and public figures.
"What are you waiting for?" asks Gadahn in English, and then adds that jihadis shouldn't worry about getting caught, since so many have been released. "Over these past few years, I've seen the release of many, many Mujahideen whom I had never even dreamed would regain their freedom."
The two-part, two hour video appeared on jihadi websites Friday with images of jihadi leaders as well as snapshots of alleged underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and accused Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan. Both Hasan and Abdulmutallab are charged with carrying out attacks inside the U.S.
Called "Do Not Rely on Others, Take the Task Upon Yourself" and produced by al Qaeda's media arm, as Sahab, the tape mixes Gadahn's new message with clips from old videos of Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and other al Qaeda leaders praising one-man attacks. They call on jihadis in the West to carry out lone wolf operations.

Perhaps I am reading more into what you wrote. I live on the East coat, vote conservative, raise my children right, believe and fear God... you aren’t suggesting that if my five year old is killed that somehow “I got what I deserved”? If you are suggesting that it is more likely to occur on the E and W coasts, then I agree.
I need to stock up on some .308 ammo again. I have quite a bit, but need a few more boxes. I have a lot of .30 cal carbine ammo.
The main reason is that it is not that easy to dominate 300 million Americans. If a thousand terrorists each take out 30 of us, that will be a loss of 30 thousand Americans to eliminate 1000 terrorists. It's a high price to pay but not so high that we wouldn't pay it. (We lose more people each year on the highways.)
The attack on 9/11 killed about 3 thousand of us. That was about as well as the terrorists might hope to do. Since that time we have killed far more than 3 thousand Al Qaeda, Taliban, and other sympathizers, I'm sure.
From a purely tactical standpoint, I would rather be one of us than one of them. What we must not tolerate is any government attempt to disarm us further in a "misguided" effort to obtain security.
The fear that terrorists inspire has a disproportionate impact to the actual numbers killed, it has always been thus. So it still mystifies me why they haven’t tried it yet...
Yeh I was just going to point out that there are 90 million American gun owners just waiting for that party to start. Down here in the South we a call a Muslim in the Mall with an assault weapon “target practice”.
You cannot obtain or sell a full auto weapon without a Class 3 stamp which involves fingerprinting, a criminal background check and then you have to keep it in a locked safe at all times. You are on a 24-7 inspection list and if the ATF shows up at the door you dang well better have that weapon in the safe. The seller also has to have a Class 3 license. Besides, these class 3 weapons start at $8,000 - $15,000. The average bear is not going to afford one.
I think if such terrosist fire-arms attacks on business centers happened, it would be an attempt to hurt the economy. Maybe they think there’s not much point in this economic climate. But before the economy really tanked? It seems weird that it didn’t happen, at least to me.
Another point about why it might not be done is that almost 10 years after 9/11, we have the weakest and most islamicist sympathetic regime we have had in decades, that is hell bent an weakening the US as much as it can. Why should they attack when they basically have what they want, and we seem to beating ourselves much better than they could? Maybe they think it is better not to rile us, just let us defeat ourselves.

The problem with that is that under the current administration, we will be the ones arrested, prosecuted, and sentenced; and the perp's survivors sue our families.
I certainly don't find myself motivated by fear; I feel anger. I don't find myself wanting to hide under my bed; I want to fight back. Nobody is taking over a plane with a box-cutter with me on board.
It's similar with the Somali pirates. I just wish I could afford an armed cruise intended to lure them out. Much of my anger is directed at our own people who seem unable to see the solution.

Shooting at bottles and paper targets are much easier than when there is return fire to contend with. The cowardly goat humpers may have an idea they can get away with it by targeting unarmed LIEberals (who are already on thier side), but their numbers wouldn’t last too long if they attempted to expand to other cities that see them for the enemy they are.
