In the first town hall of his freshly announced presidential campaign, Mitt Romney yesterday reaffirmed his view that global warming is occurring and that humans are contributing to it, a position that has been rejected in recent years by many Republicans as the issue has taken on a greater partisan tinge.
"I don't speak for the scientific community, of course," Romney said. "But I believe the world's getting warmer. I can't prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer. And number two, I believe that humans contribute to that . . . so I think it's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may well be significant contributors to the climate change and the global warming that youâre seeing."

"Like my Prophet Joseph Smith, I believe the earth is hollow and that the inside of the earth is inhabited by the lost 10 tribes of Israel and that the moon is inhabited by six foot tall Quakers."
Just touching on AGW is an economic killer for America, basically just turning our country into one giant nature preserver with 310 million “natives” to something about (genocide).
I'm probably one of the few folks who is glad that John McCain lost. Romney would do to the Republican Party what I believe McCain would have done... which is exactly what Obama is doing to the Democrats: destroying any credibility for at least a generation.
A Romney win would put the GOP in the position of explaining (four years from now) why the policies of Cap and Trade and government health care are STILL stifling the economy, and given his positions on abortion and the 2nd Amendment, we cannot depend on his SCOTUS nominees, either.
It would be better, in my opinion, to have another Obama term, during which principled conservative Republicans would fight like mad dogs to oppose his policies, than a Romney administration that they would be tempted to lay down and accept the very same policies from.
If that's the case, his defeat in 2012 should be ensured
This statement, by itself, is a disqualifier for this man to be President.
“What rhymes with Mitt?”
LOL!
Hey mittens, just go sit on the love seat with Newt and San Fran Nan.
I'm waiting for him to go nuts and grow a beard.
#57 - LOL!!!
What rhymes with mitt?
LOSER!
Translation: Government needs money and this is a great lie to manufacture tax money for the government.
I suspect that if you went back to June, 2007 and found a similar poll, it would show Rudy and Hillary in a close race with everyone else far behind. How'd that turn out?
Whatever he says now, he'll say just the opposite in fifteen minutes.
Romney needs to visit
www.petitionproject.org
where over 30,000 engineers and scientists (including over 9000 PhD’s) have signed a petition saying that there in no evidence that man’s activities cause changes in the earth’s climate.
Also, we tried to send up two satellites that were built specifically to measure the evidence of GW, but both failed in an identical manner and fell to the sea soon after launch. Both the right and the left believe the other sabotaged the launches!
RINO GO AWAY, SIMPLY GO AWAY!GO SIT IN THE NOSE BLEEDS, AND SHUT UP!
When I read Mitt's statement, I was waiting for the "burning in the bosom" part.
Hammer, meet nail.
This is good news. The more Mitt talks, the further away from the Presidency he gets.
