I’m sure early alcohol use does the same (and I’m not defending weed, just pointing out the obvious).

New research shows that adults who smoked marijuana before age 15 have significant problems with attention span, impulse control, and "executive function" - the ability to plan and carry out tasks. It makes them democrats with a liberal agenda.

What’s really funny though is that when you click on the link, the story runs with a banner ad at the top to join the ranks of Obama’s supporters. LOL! Too coincidental.

Legalize it...it will save this country billions and is less harmful than alcohol by a long shot.

Well...
Dad caught me behind the barn with a cigarette at age 12. He made me smoke a cigar and grandpa supplied the shot of brandy. (I liked them both.)
Where do I land on this den of inequity?

Of the friends I have from back in my college days, the ones who smoked pot daily have HORRIBLE memories. Bad memories of times back then, AND bad short term memories. I am not a fan of pot because of how bad these people’s brains are now. It’s kind of sad.

This should not be surprising since the human brain isn't fully developed until after age 20 or so. By age fifteen the brain is still forming its structures and systems so the intrusion of alien chemicals cannot be considered benign.

Obviously, being drunk as a teenager is not a good thing. But unless you end up falling off a balcony on spring break or taking out your best friend and yourself in a horrible auto accident, you’ll probably be ok after a few years of sobriety.
I had a friend in junior high school who was one of the brightest people I knew, but as soon as we hit high school, she started smoking dope to the point where she couldn’t even go up a flight of stairs without wheezing. The effect on her brain was about the same.
It was very sad, but I doubt that it was a unique experience (back in the 70’s). People really don’t seem to be able to recover from heavy pot use.
