President Obama's gut-level identification with the Palestinians has become obvious to voters, including many habitual Democrat supporters in the Jewish community. Billionaire big donor Haim Saban very publicly announced he will no longer contribute to President Obama, signaling to other Jewish donors that it is time to bail on a president who publicly calls for 1967 borders as the basis for a settlement.
This 30 second ad, produced by the Emergency Committee for Israel, is also giving heartburn to the Obamites, particularly because it uses pro-Israel Democrats to demonstrate Obama's position as out-of-step with the mainstream.

I dont’ think so. I’d expect that ANY Democrat will get the majority Jewish vote regardless of what that Democrat does - to include Praying to Allah. There is no real connection between the Jews of America and historical Jewish persecution and murder the world over, lest it be one that the American Jew drudges up to make his or her particular point when siding with a Democrat. Like it or not, it is the truth.
These Jews sure don't believe that:
Obviously most are Democrats, but that doesn't automatically translate into hating Israel. Far from it. It's just that liberal Jews love their liberalism more than they care about Israel. Liberalism is their priority -- their religion. I suspect I know far more American Jews (both liberal and conservative) than you do, being Jewish and from L.A. myself. Every last one of them supports Israel -- it's just a matter of degree.
Several lifelong Dem Jewish acquaintances of mine have become Republicans in the last year out of exasperation over Hussein Obama's policies toward Israel. Wouldn't surprise me if the Kenyan gets the lowest percentage of the Jewish since Carter (45%) in 1980. A lot can happen between now and Nov. '12, but I predict Hussein will get no more than 60% (down from 78% in '08). But it's far more than the percentages, is the money. His coffers will be decidedly lighter.
No way. He received the vast majority of Jewish votes as they vote liberal and he will continue to get the Jewish vote. Obama comes out against Jews and Israel yet they will continue to support him. How stupid is that.
As the saying goes, Jews voting for Obama is like chickens voting for the Colonel.
Habitual democrat supporters love pain poverty they will stick with a big loser every time.
Well first of all, this is good news. I don’t have a lot of faith in the younger generation of American Jews. They don’t give a rat’s rear about Israel. And, I’m sure Obama will still get 70% of the Jewish vote in 2012. (He got 78% in 2008.)But, the good news is, most of the Jewish votes are Primarily in NY and FL. If we can get the big Jewish donors to drop their support, that is good.
Too bad the vast majority of American Jews don’t hold these same beliefs.
I viewed the 30 second ad. It kept saying Israel has support form both Parties, Democrat and Republican but the 3 politicians they showed with a visual and auditory, were all Democrats: Harry Reid, Denny Stoyer and Bob Casey. It would have been nice to have at least one Republican in the ad.
Oh well......
They will mosey back to the democrat corral between now and November 2012.
They wouldn’t want their liberal friends to think they support Bitter Clingers or those embarrassing, rough-edged Jews in Israel.
It's the craziest thing I ever saw. You'd think that most American Jews would be staunchly pro-2nd Amendment, and have a higher than normal percentage of gun ownership, after what their people suffered in WWII.
At least the Jews in Israel have their heads on straight when it comes to this.
Response: I do not believe this. They will still vote for him at a 90% rate. H*ll! If he ordered B-52's to carpet bomb Tel Aviv they would still vote for him as a bloc.
Orthodox Jews support Israel, have large families, and are conservative.
Liberal,”Reformed,” and secular Jews have small families (or none at all,), intermarry with the Goyem, and support the Dim Party come Hell or high water.
Orthodox Jews will survive and sustain their ancient faith in this country. Israel’s chances of survival are a toss up.

Not even the biggest Jewish 'Rat would even dream of a 90% number. In 2008, the 78% O reputedly got was very likely an overestimate due to poor sampling technique in polling. The real number was probably somewhere in the 60s.
In 2012, look for Obama's percentage of the Jewish vote to be somewhere between 50 and 60%.
There is no bloc Jewish vote anymore, with the American Jewish community more diverse economically, geographically, and religiously. It's not like the bloc vote for the 'Rats by blacks.
We need more of these type Jews!
I heard a reporter earlier this week on IIRC, the John Batchelor show, talking about how anticipated fundraising for Obama ‘12 is way below expectations. I would suspect that has much to do with the traditionally big buck Jewish donors sitting tight, at least for now.
All of you who say that he will still get 80% of the Jewish vote are wrong. Sure, all the libs voted with their friends for the cool black lib last time. They did not believe certain people (like ME) who tried to warn them of his Arab sympathy, if not outright anti-semitism.
But all the liberal Jews I know and have to love, LOL, do NOT like antisemites. They hate Pat Buchanan, Jimmuh Carter, etc. Obama is acting perfectly anti-semitic and they cannot fail to see it this time. Now, they will be very torn if we get a true conservative as the Pub nominee — they HATE conservatives without being able to enunciate why. I mean Palin vs. Obama for a liberal Jew will be for them a lesser of the evils vote, and I am not sure which way they will go.
But I am hearing unhappiness with Obama out there in the synagogue and family gatherings. The most important thing for your average liberal Jew is to NOT be made fun of by his friends and family. They won’t admit voting for a Pubbie for that reason, but they still might do it. And if already they are grumbling about Obama’s stance against Israel, it doesn’t bode well for him, not that the lack of Jewish votes will matter much — but it matters with the lack of Jewish SUPPORT for sure.
That seems to be the general consensus I'm getting. No shedding of tears here. Let's hope that the 'Rat fat cats stick to their guns (oh, I only meant that as a metaphor).
“Their grandparents learned the harshest possible lesson about”
Very few Americans Jewish people are decendants of Shoa survivors or refugees from the same -— Jews generally being refused entry as undesireable immigrants at the time -— a policy supported by Republicans and Democrats of the time.
That's immaterial as the Jewish population is not going to sway the election one way or another.
The real question is what percentage of Jewish money is he going to get?
My guess......not much
