Mitt Romney got beaten up by a girl yesterday.
OK, so its not PC to call the former governor of Alaska a girl, but you know what I mean. Sarah Palin big-footed Romney big-time, not to mention Rudy Giuliani, who last night was in Dover, N.H., where he couldnt have gotten arrested even if hed tried. But for Palin, yesterday was mostly about putting a pie in Mitts face.
As one of my listeners put it: Romney has RomneyCare. Palin has no PalinCare. Advantage: Palin.
Poor Mitt. She hit him over the head like he was one of those giant halibut she occasionally gaffs on her Alaska reality TV series.
Mitt came across like one of those French generals before World War II, building the Maginot Line, preparing for the last war. He was going to prove he was hep (as opposed to hip). Why, he watches American Idol, whose ratings have gone down faster this year than Anthony Weiners trousers. And he reads the Twilight series. One of Mitts consultants should tell him, if he wants to be Ronald Reagan, he should remember that Dutch read Zane Grey and Louis LAmour, not some girly stuff.
Even if you like Mitt, you have to admit its amusing how Palin upstaged him yesterday. Mitts the establishment guy this year, and since 2008 the only people who have treated Palin worse than the GOP bosses are the mainstream media.
And for once the Karl Roves and the Comrade Chris Matthews agree on one thing how stupid Sarah is, as if theres a brain surgeon in the White House now. Apparently Palin is so stupid that she realizes she can get free TV by stopping for a few minutes in the North End. Shes so dumb she does a video interview with this newspaper, which is what Republican primary voters in New Hampshire read when theyre not checking out the Union Leader.
Sarah Palin is so clueless she even had a clambake scheduled at 7 p.m. last night in Seabrook, so that Carl Cameron from the Fox News Channel would have somewhere to do his liveshot from.
Where was Mitt? Playing back the video of his earlier appearance, sans tie of course, in which he promises to repeal ObamaCare. Mixed message, anyone?
So in the past 96 hours of her bus tour, Palin has bonded with the following constituencies: Harley-Davidson owners, Donald Trump fans, pizza lovers, Italian-Americans, Comedy Central viewers, Ellis Island history buffs, to name a few. And the whole one nation tour cost her, what, $100,000?
On top of everything else, she had the mainstream media complaining shes been mean to them by not giving them a full itinerary. Boo-hoo. Only Anthony Weiner prevented her from totally owning the week.
Look on the bright side Mitt. It only gets better from here.

LOL
‘Sarah Palin is a happening.’
I was visiting my daughter in the Denver area during the Dems convention there in ‘08.
On the last day of that convention, I walked the streets of the 16th St. Mall, wearing my McCain buttons.
For hours I walked around, shopped, ate, displaying all those buttons and no one said anything to me. . .
Then, as I walked to my Light Rail stop to return to my daughter’s, a man, about 65, ‘admired’ my buttons, so we chatted for a bit.
As we were about to part, he asked me who I thought would be McCain’s V.P. pick. I tossed off a few names, saying ‘but not him,’ because of this or that, etc.
Then I said, ‘but then there’s Sarah Palin - - ‘
That stranger shook my hand and said, ‘She’s my pick, too!!!’
We parted, I got back to daughter’s, went to bed, woke up next morning, turned on the guest room T.V., and there it was: MCCAIN HAD ANNOUNCED SARAH PALIN FOR HIS V.P.!!!
I could only imagine what the man in Denver who stopped me, was thinking!
We both picked Sarah!
Folks, I’m not remembering now how I first heard about Sarah-with-an-h back then, but there it is.
I simply thought she had a shot at the ticket.
There has always been something about Sarah Palin. It’s like electricity crackling all the time. You can almost see it.
I can't find the post, but the night she won the Governor's election someone here posted about it. About 20 something of us responded, including me and my response was lets keep an eye on her, she is a cutie, we need to look for new talent for our bench she might be VP material. Yes she is a happening, Matthews, and Krutheee, and Kristol can't stop this force, and in their gut they know it....
Her behavior and her words are consistent.
I meant congruent.
Mitt reads “Twilight”? What is he, a pre-teen girl?
What’s this “like” business ? The media doesn’t like Republicans, period (although they are quite successful with baiting liberal ones and pretending to be their friends until it’s time to lower the boom). As long as Palin was in Alaska, there was no “threat” to the national establishment. She was, however, a threat to the establishment in Alaska (she was never a part of the old Stevens-Murkowski-Young power structure). Frankly, McCain didn’t have her as a first choice (indeed, his first choice was Lieberman, but he was told that was simply a no-go - the base would’ve crucified him) and he picked her more as a stunt (and to appease the base).
Anyway, they still take a two-pronged approach with her, by deriding and by dismissing her. If she had cozied up to the GOP establishment, it would be a different story (although she has shown them more respect than they have ever shown to her). If the media believed their own propaganda as to how much of a “loser” she is, they’d be falling all over themselves to promote her candidacy. You want the weakest opponent the opposition can put up. It’s why they float the scum like Slick Willard or Huckster or (C)Huntsman or even long-damaged goods like Gingrich, who turned from hero to zero with respect to the party base. They don’t want her as the nominee because they know she could win. The media despises her for obvious reasons and the RINO establishment hates her because they know she’ll end their gravy train and stop this pro-big government collusion dead in its tracks.
The only debatable point here is where she’d be now had she not been selected as the VP running mate. I do think she would be a top-tier candidate for President regardless, but where she would’ve been hamstrung is being tied to her duties in Alaska. Now, she is free to reach out nationwide. Of course, we would’ve eventually seen the vicious attacks and hysteria, albeit delayed.
IIRC there were several threads about Gov. Palin that recapped her political career to that date that caught my attention and lead me to my own research which put her on my rising star watch list.
Kudos to those that brought her to our notice so early.
Palin 2012
Here’s Bill Kristol suggesting McCain pick Palin as VP in June of 2008 because of her energy credentials.

From a family RV that is "painted" to draw attention to their tour of American sites that hold a special place for our country -- for Americans!
Hello America! Look! This is our country! This is our history! This is what we are losing!
I'd say she's used the Pac money well.
Gotta love Howie’s barbs regarding mirthless Myth!
Looks like Palin is playing Chess and Mitt is playing, Mitty and Krauthammer in a tree?
Sarah’s playing Texas Holdem and Mitt has no cards.
What I can not understand is why Romney is running as a Republican? He should run in the democrat party
Of course he should, but what better way to destroy the GOP but from within ? Enact the Socialist agenda and cause the party to split and implode. Hell, he ALREADY did that in MA, it ain’t like it’s a big secret.
Sarah has more ability in her smallest finger than any of the other candidates in this race for POTUS ‘12. She has turned 2 years of negative crap from the Left into a plus and the RV History Tour is just the ticket to smoke out the rest of the doubters....watch as her positive polling will explode.
Instructive reporting:
[excerpt] Palins final stop was a clambake in Seabrook, where she hobnobbed with a small crowd that included former governor John Sununu, who also attended the Romney event. I love it, she said, heaping praise on New Hampshire, and sounding very much like a presidential candidate. Its beautiful.
So, is she running for president?
Havent decided yet, she said. Looking at the field, and knowing that there is going to be a lot of shakeup in that lineup. [end excerpt]

[excerpt] SARAH: NH IS NOTHING SPECIAL. Sununu said he was surprised that Palin dissed New Hampshire voters earlier this week just a few days before she stops by.
According to CNN.com, Palin said, I honestly don’t look at states according to when their primaries are. To me, an American is an American no matter what their primary election dates.
Palin said New Hampshire voters are special, but not just because they have a certain date of a primary election. They’re special because they are Americans and obviously they want jobs, they want safety in their communities, they want strong national defense, they want the same things that everybody else wants, so I don’t know, I guess that’s that non-politician in me not looking at a New Hampshire voter any differently just because they have, you know, an earlier primary than somebody else.
Sununu responded, I’m surprised she doesn’t have any more respect than that for the state of New Hampshire, which has served as the launching pad for many conservative Presidents. A lot of people who are running this time have a much nicer perspective on New Hampshire than that. [end excerpt]
I listened to Mitt on the radio and he sounded AWFUL!! PITIFUL really.....he’s a Bob Dole...he thinks it’s his TURN.
